Off the Record  I'd bought groceries with a "C"note the change tucked into my billfold as I left the cash register. I crossed the parking lot... there in an old rusty van was an elderly gent who'd gone to school with my dad crying. I stepped by saying "hello" I know he didn't recognize me thus I said I was Keith's . I inquired why he was so saddened whereby he said he had no money. I emptied my wallet folded it and stuck it in his hand.... he hugged me and I left. |

I didn't want to even write this in here but "Dickie"s been on my mind and for those in the faith... prayers are needed. this inflation is killing our elderly on fixed incomes.

Inflation is really taking a toll on seniors' ability to keep food on the table with their limited fixed income. Canadian economists are predicting our country will drop into a mild recession in 2023. I have a feeling it is going to be worse than mild.

You did the right thing..... dark forces have taken over to impose their will on all of us. To them it does not matter how many people will die..... to them most people are useless eaters anyway. Prayers are needed, but also keeping our eyes and heart open and be a helping hand when needed. I am open to a hand up to help anyone in need..... It is those who keep taking without the least care for the needs of others that catch my ire.

Thank God you were there at the right time to help that poor man. So many people are suffering and struggling trying to make ends meet. Where is it all going to end. ?

I think God has living angels on earth. I have done some things, maybe not as grand as that. I given out gift cards from McDonalds, or there was a couple of people who was begging for money and I bought them food. One guy was laying outside of Wendy's once in the cold and I bought him a meal with a coffee for them to give him. I also let a stranger who was walking up the hill by work in the rain with a walker get in my car so I could drive him home. I never carry money with me. But sometimes the littlest thing done might make someone's day. I have been blessed to meet a couple of living angels myself. I'm very proud of U Darter. HUGS

DUDE. I AM IMPRESSED. sounds like u were raised by folks that taught you good values and compassion. as i write this i suffer financially from helping ones i thought cared. I learn slowly. i have some regrets but i knew I was doing the right thing

HOW RIGHT YOU ARE. EVEN WITH THE PENSION INCREASES WE ARE HAVING TO MAKE CHOICES ABOUT FOOD AND OTHER NECESSARY ITEMS. PLUS PERHAPS FREEZING THIS COMING WINTER AND IN THE DARK. THAT IS NOT HOW I EXPECTED TO SPEND MY OLD AGE.
