Crop Report July 29

It's been quite awhile since my last crop report in here.

Mr. Kimble came by and took a look at things and said everything looked fine.

You might remember I planted my own ginger root a few weeks ago. LQQKIE !!! tWo of them have buds poking up through the soil.

The Hawthorn tree is going crazy with so many shoots and new growth in every direction. Amazing what a sunny, wide open space can do for some new vitality.

I composted some high nitrogen chicken poo poo then put it on the Pink Niagara Grape Vines....They have gone LEAFY CRAZY !!! Have to see if we get any grapes.

A nice sunny day here ... about 79 F... 26 C a bit breezy but pleasant to be outside after I got done working and could be on my own. Quite a bit of pain today a few too many Oxys that left me stumbling around out in the yard like a drunk. I was too stoned to drive into town to get dinner so JD drove us in.... Carry out Mexican.... Chicken enchiladas for me IDK what JD got we were both so dang hungry the food just vanished. My man Martin's momma has not been well and I took her a jar of the home made "Kompote" grape juice to brighten her spirits and make her smile. Just listening to the tunes relaxing.

Sounds like you had a really busy day down at Green Acres, and your crops are doing well. A little fertilizer does wonders to improve plant growth and overall health. Might be a little late in the season for grapes to start growing on the vines.

Glad you and JD had a good takeout dinner, and you were able to relax afterwards. Cudos for visiting Marin's sweet mama.

It got to 97F here today before a severe thunder warning was issued 15 minutes ahead of a torrential downpour at 4:15 with a few hails in it. Didn't last very long, but received a much needed 0.4" of precip. The 15 minute advance warning on my phone gave me time to walk over to my neighbor's house and close up some windows. It was beginning to sprinkle on the walk back.Doggy sitting again today.

It's always interesting to try to grow a special plant or tree, rather than just a garden harvest. When we had such a huge garden, I had a few tea roses that gave me so much pleasure outside of the work of the garden.
Maybe I should try planting just one rose now, and see if I enjoy it. I didn't get any flower plants planted early enough this year..... so I just planted some flower seeds in pots and my raised gardens to watch them grow, and hopefully enjoy some fall blooms.
