Green Thumb

I'd Finished up with my Doctor at the hospital ... My A1c was 5.2 but I am still loosing red blood cells somewhere. I seen the nursery was 50% off remaining stock... I NEVER pass up a bargain. I had my Chauffeur pull in.

I liked a hanging basket of crimson Geraniums. I just set it in the birdbath for the time being.... the hook is occupied yet.

There were some pretty petunias I placed into the pots leading to the brick patio from the driveway.

A yellow climbing rose caught my attention... " Good Day Sunshine" of all the cute names.

I dug down by a vacant trellis in the front of the house. Protected and in good old lake bottom North Iowa Dirt should grow and produce some roses for me.

There was a "cemetery box" with a HUGE colorful Coleus. The red geraniums and petunias looked healthy too so I added it to my cart. I put them in an old cast iron hog troth that came from Grandpa's way back.

Also a poor lone Roma tomato plant that needed sunshine, a big pot, and some TLC with a cage to grow up in. This is my eclectic display.

A beautiful day here 80 F... 27 C plenty of sunshine and NO WIND for a change JD wanted Coney Dogs for dinner. No time to do home made chili so I tossed a big can of Hormel's over the dogs to simmer..... He also got the chopped onions and cheese he requested. Rain is on the way. We had dinner out on the deck. Just finished eating as it started to sprinkle.

You captured some good finds at the 1/2 price sale. With your green thumb, everything you planted will flourish, I'm sure.

The little Roma tomato plant is happy to be outdoors in the sun, but be careful that the leaves don't get sun burnt.

It was a nice day here reaching 75F just after lunch, then cloud rolled in, the wind picked up and the temp dropped to 70F. It is now 61F, SW 23 mph, mostly cloudy. More of the same for tomorrow.

I'm sure JD is happy to see the light rain on his newly planted crops.

Your Coney dog dinner sounded delish.

Little doggy spent all day sitting on my lap, recuperating in warmth and comfort. By the end of the day he was eating and drinking. He was walking very gingerly and needed me to gently lift him up and down the steps. He went home for the night but will be back with me tomorrow. His recovery is going miraculously well, considering how badly he was injured. The worry now is that he may develop pneumonia in his injured lung. That could be life threatening.

I'll give them a hit of Nitrogen after the rain passes.

I might need to move it where it gets some shade during the day.... I was just trying to beat the rain.

Testing my rain gauge out too! So far not enough to get the sidewalk wet. JD chowed down on his Coney Dogs.

Candles will be lit for his speedy recovery.

Some lovely displays you have there, really nice. You have a very big garden I see, beautiful lawns too.

I have pots of red, pink, orange and white geraniums planted, most in full bloom now. Such an easy plant to care for.

Delighted to see the little doggy is recovering.

The wide variety of colours Geraniums come in gives so many place you may use them. From the very first Geraniums & Petunias were my first choice when selecting plants to grow. The little doggy's recovery is so important to many of us chatters and bloggers.

Great finds! I should really get out and find the plants I need, today will probably not be the day I do it. We have been on the go so much this past week and I am tired. Or maybe just lazy? This just may be the time I put on a cape and say I am SUPER LAZY LADY!

How long before determining exactly where you are still losing blood - hopefully not much longer.

Some very fine selections - you did well with your bargain plant sale buy. Such a pleasure to the senses

I'm glad the little dog is slowly bouncing back from its serious injury. Stay strong and resilient little dog. Amen

The sales are on with prices slashed... get what you can use and not over do it. A few well placed plants are by far better than a crowded jumble. I am lazy here tonight... spaghetti & meatballs with garlic bread & salad.

I am not certain on how long. They took more blood to send off to try and figure out just where. It is a process of elimination.
