Shopping Binge Max & Alex left mid-afternoon and are home safely before the line of strong storms moves through. The trophy of my Shopping Binge with my friend; Alex is this hand blown Ruby Glass vase. Circa probably 1970's +/- It is HUGE! !!! That is a 2 L Coke beside. I really don't have a clue what to even put in it. For the time being it is on JD's Baby Grand in the parlor. News sources are claiming a national shortage of ribs since Max & Alex's stay with us. Also claimed are the Barbaric table manners whilst devouring the ribs likened to Henry VIII just tossing the bones to the dogs gathered around the table. |

Several lines of storms are crossing Iowa bringing a drop in temps for the next week. It is currently 75 F... 24 C here with a few windows open. MUTTs Inc miss Max & Alex since they are so attention deprived with just us. Ronnie has gone upstairs and looked around a couple times just to verify they have been deserted.

A few years ago, I saw these huge, artificial Oriental Poppies in a floor vase similar to that ......in a home-decor store I regretted not buying them.....I still have the Chinese pottery jug I was going to put them in.....This time of year, I put small Alder trees in it..........I just pull them up, rinse off the roots and put them in the jug with water......

That's quite the vase. You will be challenged to find the proper inhabitants for it. Good to hear that Max and Alex got out and home ahead of the storm front. I noticed the weather warning about possible severe weather on your local TV channel.

I had a mostly relaxing Monday. Walked the doggy then vacuumed the floors in my disabled neighbor's house. They hadn't been cleaned since the last time I did it around Xmas. The canister on the vacuum was completely filled when I was done. I had a chicken cheese burger homemade ham/vegetable soup for supper. A PB& J tortilla wrap for dessert.

Very elegent vase indeed. I'm sure you will dress it up nicely.

I really like vases, even without anything in them. If one really "grabs" me and calls my name, it comes home with me. It's strange how inanimate objects can do that! Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.
