Lost Perspective in Blogs

Many bloggers are under the impression they might change your religion or political party by their posting. The only accomplishment is ill-will, antagonism, and resentment. Blogs should be a positive influence, informative, and entertaining NOT a pointless haranguement on a topic of immutable personal beliefs.

Let us strive to regain our past communications and interactions as an informed community free from the negativity.

ALSO..... IF you drop by a blog and read it... comment..... a comment is the grease to the wheel of a worthwhile presentation. A lack of commentary is a sign to the author they are on the wrong track needing to rethink their position.

>>> SUPPORT THE POSITIVE; DISDAIN FOR THE NEGATIVE <<<

Just basic respect and common decency is all that is needed. Loose the oneupmanship negativity.

Is your attempt to school us in what you think is the correct blog behaviour positive or negative?.....

It is intended to restore a semblance or modicum of civility towards each other. Think of your postings if it is hurtful does it do anything to improve the situation or is it merely personal aggrandizement or revenge? To me there is more than enough hurt and pain in the world without compounding it. I can be viscous; if not down right verbally cruel, however, refraining, instilling a smile, hope, knowledge, or entertaining gains for me personal satisfaction of gaining a friend verses making an enemy. I am there right away to comment when you post a pleasant experience, while I refrain from lending any credence with an il-fated impassioned outburst. Choose your words with those thoughts as if the same verbiage were directed at you.

I never discuss politics or religion, that's my way of staying out of trouble. If that makes me a coward so be it.

Growing up as child I saw plenty of heated arguments and rows all to do with politics and religion.

I think what Darter is saying that there is so much hate going on on the outside. And would rather see positive things.
In reference to harsh blogs made to certain people on here ... hiding behind fake identities is very disgusting. I don't bother looking at the political or religious blogs. The religious blogs that r wrapped up with verses in the bible and hate of someone isn't really something we need to even read ! I might look at it and move on. There is nothing wrong with discussing politics or religion.
Hiding behind a fake name, it takes away from all the splendid beauty of the photo days and throwback days.
Maudie it doesn't make U a coward. It makes U an of a person !

Sometimes I have nothing to say and just come in to read. Whether I decide to make a comment, or not, is my choice. If a blog is of no interest to me, don't expect a comment.

Purely a matter of discretion discussing an energy policy the government might undertake is not the same as calling the Prez names. Some conversations can be made without flying off the handle.

It's not at all what is meant, but you can take it anyway you want. I like it when someone comments and I enjoy the interactions between the members of SFF, but to say you should leave a comment is like telling someone how they should spend their money, or how they should live.

I find it more useful to focus on the issue versus the political or religious label. Kindness and civility is universal.

Yes it should be. My Grandmother taught me if you can't say anything nice to keep your mouth shut. In like manner IF you post an item focused to hurt or malign a member for his beliefs... table it... find something else. i have a "S"Load of blog topics to post just from the daily routine but lack the time.... Like right now I snuck IN for a icy cold Coke. and a 5er on my rump.

I agree with you Nile. As you know, this is not a new subject and is usually met with more controversy.

Might I suggest we no long view or comment on negative posts from either side of the equation ? IF those elements get no responses to their contrivances they might either leave or evolve into worthwhile members worthy of emulation.
