REpurposed

Most of you have laundry chores to do as do I.

When I seen the "GAIN" laundry pouches you just toss in and forget I thought I'd give them a try. I really wasn't happy with the results and long since gone back to my regular detergent using the remaining packets on less important loads.

HOWEVER.... I did see promise in the empty container. It's interesting shape caused me to try and soak off the label in water... which failed to remove the adhesive. Enter good old GOOF OFF to remove the stubborn glue. I am thinking drilling drain and planting maybe some flowers in it. Just have to see what develops.

ONE WHOLE DAY without having to spend part of it in the hospital, however, tomorrow the nurse comes to change the dressings on my leg. WET, rainy, windy and just downright disgusting even to have to go outside today 55 F. Had payroll done for the guys and my guy Martin came out and made the deposits at the bank for me. I just putsied around the house.... MUTT chores and JD along with a picture frame restoration.

Maybe a hanging basket for the front porch? Might look kind of pretty with a fern, or a flowering plant. Maybe a pretty Macrame holder? That might look kind of nice.

The weather here was windy again, warm and humid. Maybe a chance of rain tomorrow, but most likely will hold off till Sunday. At least the wind will be calmer tomorrow, I'll get out and do some much needed tractor work.

I like the fern idea... might just have some available too. We don't have a place to hang it from with the design of our house.

I like to see repurposed objects.... they are often prettier than the original use. I use the Tide pods and have been highly satisfied with them, and find them easier to use than the liquid because they are lighter to handle and don't need measured. I kept one of the containers and use it for a lint container in the laundry room, but then I just buy the pods in a pouch and pour them into the other container.
I wish we could have some hanging plants, but our house isn't made to accommodate them and the winds are much too strong. I would have to take them down constantly. The same with wind chimes, although I'm going to try some up closer to the house on a shepherd's hook.

The Northwest winds just destroy about anything I put on the front of the house. Storms destroy what I put out on the South then in the summer. I can't win against the wrath of Mother Nature here.

The first picture reminds how easy our laundry days are compared to days of the past. I remember my own mother hand washing huge piles of clothes by hand, she would spend all morning on the laundry alone, God bless her.

I used the pods and the liquid a few times, but went back to the powder in the end, better value anyway. Good washing powder is very expensive here, I usually wait until they have it on special offer.

I like the idea of a fern sitting in that lovely green container, very nice I'd say.

I have no hanging pots or plants indoors or out. I do so admire the lovely hanging baskets of pretty flowes though. I need to buy a new wind chime for the garden, I love the tinkling sound in the gentle breeze.

Rain on the way here today and for the rest of the week I think. Hopefully only showers that don't last too long. I planned to go shopping today and I'm going ,rain or no rain.

We have rain and cool temps for the next week. I like the fern idea too and can set the planter on a table. My grandma had a wringer washer she saved for "farm clothes" not wanted poo in her good washer.
