300 Spartans

In 480 BC 300 Spartans went to fight a battle they could not win... in a war they could not win..... Yet they went with their King, Leonidas to a narrow pass known as Thermopylae.

They left home in hopes they could inspire others to take arms to win the war. A war we benefit from 2500 years later.....

Munich.............. September 30, 38............... How did that work out?

Appeasing a bully never ends well................ where do we draw the line?

This is where we look into our souls and ask .... Who is our neighbor?

"Suppose my neighbor's home catches fire, and I have a length of garden hose or hundred feet away. If he can take my garden hose and connect it with his hydrant, I may help him to put out his fire...I don't say to him before that operation, "Neighbor, my garden hose cost me $; you have to me $ for it."... I don't want $--I want my garden hose back after the fire is over. "

Now......... let us examine what is happening in Ukraine and ask.....

Who is our neighbor?.

I'm not a politician, and I'm not in charge of anything, but there are many actions that I believe our country could and should be taking and I do not understand why we are not.
I understand the not doing a no fly zone, but why aren't we producing our own oil, gas, and natural gas to the point that we do not need to buy from Russia?
Is there someone in our government who is profiting from the continued purchasing from Russia? Why don't we send more things to the Ukraine that they need? Just a couple of things I wonder.

-We need to follow the money trail ... from shutting down the Keystone pipeline bringing in cheap Canadian oil to the termination of drilling leases and fracking. Maybe if Hunter Biden had not been forced to resign from Burisma and still received his $83 K a month Joe might be more willing to defend Ukraine.

MrsJoe, I am not a politician either but this "war" is a very complex issue....... This country keeps out of it, because it would result in the use of the worst weapons one can imagine. ------ And there is no war in the " West Ukraine", the Russians focused on disabling all military facilities, secure all laboratories that do research on biological hazardous materials. And Ukraine has a Neo-Nazi problem, they are having street fights targeting civilians..... The heavy sanctions on Russia will hurt the Europeans most. And Germany is still an occupied country since the end of WW2. They did not sign any peace treaty after the wall came down. The present government is willing to send all kinds of war weapons to Ukraine and possibly troops. That would mean declaration of war with Russia.

This war is a complex issue going back to WW-2 when Ukrainians largely supported the Fascist forces against the Russians. The sanctions imposed are too little too late along with supplying weapons. to the Ukrainians.

Hi, I enjoyed your words here. please be careful trashing hunter, joe, or any liberal , Republican, or Trump supporter

on this site. I say that because their message is the only message they want to be heard.

    .

You also risk one of them reporting you. That usually brings a ban.

As you stay here you will see the ones that hate opposing viewpoints.

There is not a thing you can tell them that will change their thinking?
I've noticed that...... just takes time to impact the viewpoints.... When gas hits $7 a gallon we'll see how the viewpoint stands. Our family was big into oil... With oil at $133 a barrel recession will soon be hitting Wall Street. 246 days till the mid-terms.

I agree. That said, it bears noting. THE DEMOCRATIC politicians thru-out history have allowed or downright created reasons for AMERICAN to become involved in wars.

2 EXAMPLES. both can be verified on the internet with very little effort.

PEARL HARBOR attack carried out by the Japanese in part due to USA refusal to meet and talk with them about issues in and around Japan and the indo china mainland.. as well as the need for oil.

sources were told 3 days before the attack japan was reading a massive air assault plan. focused on the pacific fleet.

The code had been broken and the information was relayed to Washington.FDR was advised. He did nothing

There have been many opinions forthcoming since WW11.

The one most often offered.FDR wanted to light up the economy of AMERICA. Having just come out of the GREAT DEPRESSION.

The next example of the DEMOCRATS creating a war involvement was THE BAY OF TONKIN. OR GULF OF TONKIN incident.

In August 1964. a supposed attack was made on 2 AMERICAN NAVAL SHIPS in the GULF OF TONKIN.

It didn't happen! LBJ wanted to increase AMERICAS presence in VIET NAM.

IN both cases USA's war machine went into high gear. Money was flowing like cheap wine.

LBJS wife / her family was deeply connected to many of the contracts for the weapons as well as the infrastructure in VIET NAM

Our involvement. or lack thereof. whichever you choose to follow regarding UKRAINE . Shows money is involved. JOE. HUNTER, JAMES, JOES BROTHER. are all bought and paid for by CHINA AND OR RUSSIA.

This is why BIDEN refuses t stop buying oil from Russia

I could go on but do not wish to take up your space.

C continue posting very informative and interesting blogs..
I acknowledge both your examples along with the bought off Bidens Geopolitically the USA is very vulnerable by our dependence upon foreign oil brought on by our own inept leadership.

Who doesn't think this is all being done on purpose?

I just read 7 different articles that debunked the lies coming out of Ukraine and yet there are more that I haven't even read yet. Everything from vehicle mounted incinerators to hide evidence of battlefield casualties to video footage from a game.

I don't think we can wait till mid-term elections, and at this point, not sure we'll make it at all if our representatives don't step up to the plate and demand we bring our oil suppliers back on line. Enough begging and paying this ridiculous amount to Russia.

We need a cleaner, greener future... but we're not there yet. Biden has to tell the squad to set down and shut up. We have oil sands and shale right here in IOWA! We need to refocus and go back to being energy independent like we were prior to January 20, 2020.
