unmentionable..........

There's just some topics that are best left unmentionable...........

Like eating liver & onions................ ( yes I do make JD liver & onions...eeeewwww )

Also on the list is what goes into hotdogs and bologna.

Recently a very kind member mentioned how she enjoyed bologna ... We do too!

Tonight I made us fried bologna. JD wanted a baked potato with his. I had a salad with balsamic vinegar and oil, melted garlic butter topped with cracked black pepper, French bread and that "unmentionable" fried bologna.

Yes.... that is the Real JD eating... liver & onions...... eeeewwww! Day 4 no fever.... Looking at our flag today I think the wind has blown from every direction on the compass. DOOM & GLOOM.... The hazy blue grey sky here masked the impending rain, sleet, ice and snow predicted to hit during the overnight hours. Currently 34 F.... 1 C...Last Looked the wind was out of the Southeast. MUTTs Inc are reluctant to go out.... Since tomorrow is to be pretty crappy I have the design transposed upon the piece of wood I selected for the parlor shelves. NOW to cut it out with the jigsaw....

Eeeeewwwwww is right! I hate liver and onions! Fried bologna and cheese sandwiches I love, but not on my new healthier diet.

I make him the breaded beef liver like the Southern fried chicken coated with flour, egg, and bread crumbs.... holding my nose the whole time. You might look into the chicken or turkey bologna see if that meets your flavor and diet concerns.

I liked liver, but not the way most folks cook it with the onions. It changes the texture. I want pork liver, floured and fried, with mustard on a sandwich. Oh, and chicken livers are good too. I love fried onions, just not cooked with the liver.
On our honeymoon, my new sister in law cooked up a huge bowl of onions as a vegetable. I'd never seen onions served in that way before.
I'll have fried bologna for sure! But with it's sodium content a big no-no in our house, it's rare around here.

My liver is as if Colonel Sander's made it at KFC. Dipped in flour, egg, and crumbs. Were they creamed onions?... They go over mashed potatoes.

I like liver by itself. I like bologna not fried. I like hotdogs on the grill or pan fried. Haven't had bologna or liver in quite a while

Sometimes they just get forgotten in our dietary shuffle.

Calf's liver is delicious when you fry it the right way. Before going on with the preparation, the liver should be soaked in milk in a bowl for about half an hour. After that I dip it in flour and fry with butter. Onion rings and slices of apple are fried when the liver is done. The meat is tender and delicious....... Bon appetit!

As a child my mother made liver & onions on Halloween. If you didn’t finish it all you didn’t go trick or treating. The smell
Is as bad as the taste.
