Defeeted A few nights ago in chat STR had mentioned leg cramps... another "charlie horses" in the arch of their feet. An old wives tale or Down home Southern cure is sweet relish or sweet pickles... doesn't have to be every meal but once or twice a week eat some sweet relish on a hot or with a meal. I make several kinds of sweet relish and pickles during the year... there seems to be a "healing agent," curative power" or preventative in the vinegar//cucumber combination. There's NO scientific data or research to back it but just give some sweet relish a try... what do you have to loose? I made a spicy diakon or Japanese radish relish that turned out a W0Wer in tuna salad, with brats or hotdogs or just about anything that needs an extra to it. These were the basic veggies with , vinegar, water, and some spices. We get leg cramps or charlie horses these are our "Go To" remedy or preventative. |

There was a discussion of this just today in face book. Some mentions of mustard, or pickle juice as a good remedy. I also mentioned Arniflora Arnica gel rubbed into the cramping area. I know I have suffered from them bad enough that I set the jar of pickle juice by the side of my bed, along with the Arniflora, in anticipation of an attack. My poor old grandpa, who was a hard working farmer, would often get up in the middle of the night and stomp around the house, usually cussing, because of leg cramps. Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

I haven't had leg cramps in a very long time, thank goodness. I used to get them a lot when I was pregnant. I do get restless legs from time to time, not painful just very annoying. Great selection of tasty pickles ,etc.

What woke me was a horrible nightmare that JD was dead.. I awoke with that "bounce" in the bed like you'd be dropped. Till I felt someone's ass there beside me I was shaking and crying... A Coke and a smoke , wipe the tears away. A reality we all have to face but NOT in a dream. Ronnie the Red MUTT came along with me... knew I was upset.... that warm ass in bed has such curative and tranquilizing powers. a blog in it's formation. Glad I have online friends I can share with. back to bed

Well, I don't know if these remedies really work for leg cramps, but they taste good. I cured my nightly leg cramps with potassium and magnesium supplementation. Did you know that us old folks have a harder time keeping our potassium levels up than the younger people? If you take a diuretic, out goes your potassium and it has to be replaced, or suffer the consequences. I hated the feet cramps the most, even more than getting one in the leg.

Mayby you made an intentional misspelling but you used an adverb instead of the verb lose.
