ATT: Pinkie

Pinkie here is the canned chicken we were talking about last night. I get it at the Dollar General with their store brand, however, after looking there's many other brands available on the market.

When I use it for chicken salad I get 3-4 nicely filled sandwiches. For noodle soup I add some bouillon cubes to supplement the broth. It's just one of those handy things to have stashed in the pantry.

With a little on line research there seems to be a wide discrepancy in pricing.... so shop around your local markets.

Well, I'm not Pinkie, but that looks interesting. I've seen it in the store, but never really gave it any consideration. We need to do more chicken and fish in our diet, so I'll check it out. It sure would be a convenience, and we use a lot of tuna and canned crab. My concern is the sodium content.

I am not certain of the sodium content but it probably varies from various canneries. Give it one try and I bet you will purchase it more often

I'm not much for canned food, but I do keep canned chicken around in case of emergencies. Such as my grandson is hungry, makes a fast chicken salad sandwich for him... he's always hungry, he's a growing boy.

There is where reading the label and selecting the brand that meets you dietary requirements.

Did some bodies say chicken salad sandwich? Now I am hungry, but am too far from the city to rush in and grab a can. Maybe next trip.

Most of the time chicken salad requires a degree of forward planning and I cook, cool, de-bone then make the chicken salad. It's a regular on our menu here too.

I use a lot of chicken, always cooked from fresh though. The tinned version would be a very handy stand by for sure. Must give it a try.

I like my chicken too. I get family packs or big bags to keep up here. Chicken salad sandwiches happen every week
