Super Bowl LVI

Super Bowl LVI is the upcoming championship game of the National Football League for the 2021 NFL season. It will be played between the National Football Conference champion Los Angeles Rams and the American Football Conference champion Cincinnati Bengals in the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.

For me it is not so much the game as it is the food.

Here in Iowa one item in abundance are "Little Smokies."

Those irresistible spicy morsels you just can't leave alone.

We like them so well we're having some early.

Topped with barbecue sauce and cheese.

Popped in the oven for a few minutes.... Then dig in and enjoy !

It is all good although some is better than others.

A bag of Twizzlers and popped corn. But if the game is boring, I do something else

Don't think the TVs in Canada will work with American football. They're set up strictly for hockey, I think. Don't really know for sure because I have no interest in any sport. I will have a cheese sandwich and a salad at lunch time, and a burger and baked spud for supper.

Your snack food does look exceptionally tempting. I can see why you dug into the little smokies well before the start of the game.

I'll be looking in the TV tomorrow to see the Bud W Clydesdale commercial. It is always a tear jerker for me.

Oh the irony of flaccid men in cushioned chairs in temperature-controlled boxes indulging in highly processed unhealthy foods, hero worshiping rigorously disciplined athletes....

Not missing much. We quit watching football when overpaid players took to the knee.

IDK just how "flacid" they might be, however, not much has changed since the days of Rome and gladiatorial combat. I/we'd rather watch hockey... more violence with a weapon.

My first husband enjoyed football, when he had the time to watch it.
Personally, the only football games I really enjoyed were the high school ones in which my son was a player. NEVER missed one of his games, no matter what the weather and was not a 'sit in the stand' person, I walked the line to be where the action was.
Later, my best friend and I enjoyed putting on a party for Super Bowl, not about the game, but about the party.
When I married Joe, I married into a Red Sox Nation family, that lived and breathed baseball. They could not hold a conversation with each other that did not include baseball stats and history, along with current baseball affairs. But that began to wane as professional sports became more political and social issue orientated.
Joe is no longer interested in today's sports, but he still speaks with fondness of events in the past and times with his father and brothers when they attended games together.

Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

Thanks for dropping by and your commentary. My dad never missed a game I played in whether baseball or football. If we're out driving along and see even a little league ball game we'll stop to enjoy the game. Tonight we'll just watch to see the commercials and eat our platters and chips.

Didn't watch the game but did watch the half-time show - loved the energy, so thrilling seeing the rappers/crew come together for the event, giving their all, enjoying the moment. And Eminem's 'Lose Yourself' electrifying conclusion.

You are the first with a positive response. BTW.. what time did you watch it?

Oh, what I saw was on youtube, so not real time. Approx. mid morning NZ time today. Same time last year watched Super Bowl's half-time show featuring The Weeknd. Was keen to see him perform his catchy 'Blinding Lights' which didn't disappoint.

The game and show just did not get my full attention.. just half hearted glances between animals, food, and cellphone.
