Thank you for the comment however this holiday is not for the living veterans it's for my comrades who did not come home from all conflicts, and is not a holiday for picnics barbecues and parties at least half of the holiday should be devoted to attending a service of some sort

I totally know this. I have family who served and r no longer with us. I also decided to thank all who have protected us and still do.

Interesting day, I was at a cook out sitting next to my Theater Buddy, Years ago, we would sit together at the local theater for live plays. He asked me to find the grave site for his cousin who died in Vietnam. Today, I mentioned that I had that photo of his cousin's memorial at Arlington Cemetary. I pulled out my phone and showed it to him. It was the time I went to Arlington Cemetary. I found my old sky diving buddy along with his cousin. I took a photo of both of them.

Steamboy our memorial day is always on November 11th which is remembrance day. Also there is a remembrance included on July 1st which is Canada Day. I certainly don't do picnics and barbecues on those two days.

It used to be where we would go to places between (cemeteries) on certain days. Then get together at one of our homes and share MEMORIES of our loved ones ! Yes there was food, we all have to eat ! Some of us live the loss everyday not only a few days a year
