STAR HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY. HERE IN THE HOOD. FIREWORKS ARE A THING OF THE PAST.

MONDAY, MONDAY NIGHT WILL BE A CASCADE OF LEAD BRIGHTENING UP THE SKY. BOTH GOING UP AND COMING DOWN

SOME OF THE YOUNGSTERS STILL SHOOT FIREWORKS. BUT..........

THE DAYS WILL END ... TIME WILL BE ETERNAL

I've hated them since I was a kid. But as an adult liked to see them at Disney from far away

When the kids were young, we had a family picnic, went to the park for Bessie Bingo, sack races, watermelon eating contests, turtle races and enjoy the small carnival that is there for the week of the 4th. Then we went down by the pond to enjoy the fireworks.
When the kids grew up and had little ones of their own, we still got together, but as their kids got older and life became more hectic for all of them, we sort of drifted away from the activities. We did go to the carnival to enjoy the food, but haven't even done that for several years.
Will just have a quiet day at home together, remembering the beginning of our country and the men and women who have fought and died for the freedom we have.

Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

Yes many changes I've seen over the years. I grew up in the city and just crossing the street on the 4th was a task both sides with fireworks. My aunt used to have big get togethers for the 4th. Then when I had my kids they would out with their dad and set off some and we always had people over, had a big inground pool. I stayed inside with the dogs back then. They hated fireworks. The only fireworks I like was at Disney.
