Mars vs. Venus I was out with a friend earlier this evening. We dined at a very nice restaraunt, listened to good music, had an evening stroll, and pleasant conversation. We are friends and business associates, we do this a couple times a month. Then there are lunch meetings, breakfasts, coffees......lol We sound like a dating couple, but we are simply friends. We enjoy time spent together. I have friends that tell me, men and women cannot "just be friends", but I have a lot of just friends. I have friends that tell me, men always want something, they don't invest their time unless they do. This is a confusing thought. I have lots of male friends. Let's face it, I do a lot of guy stuff. You make guy friends that way. So if guys only hang out because they want something, What is the "something"? And why am I missing the signals |

The issue is whether or not the man can have a "non-sexual" (if not in action then in thought) relationship with a women. Men in a non-sexual relationship aren't very thoughtful, caring and considerate You may think that because of their attitude towards women .. but men aren't even thoughtful, caring or considerate to other men.. Most women don't want to be treated like a man treats other men.

I mostly hang out with women but do know a couple of guys around that I have conversations and/or coffee with.

More of a problem if Mars and Venus collide, it's hard to be friends with that line being crossed over

TwilightSpirit replies on 10/16/2022 1:23 pm: Maybe that is where it all works, I don't expect him to be thoughtful, caring, or considerate......we are not a couple . We do use each other as sounding boards when we venture into real dating. "what did he/she mean by that?" "What should I do?" Turns out men and women don't even really know their own sex that well. ********************** I am not professing right or wrong here.. It is what it is. but defining what is a "relationship".. not based on gender..is impractical based on our society and upbringing. Once found.. the social pressure of a opposite gender non -sexual relationship destroys the relationship.. It's difficult , but easier for the society to accept a sexual relationship between people of totally diverse backgrounds (race, religion, and economics) than it is for society to accept a non sexual relationship between common folk of different genders. What's amazing is that a diverse nonsexual relationship from a social standpoint have a get out of jail free card. Everybody has experienced it in their life...The social pressure of liking somebody.....but not really "liking" somebody. The questions that arise can not be put to rest.
