Days Like These

One of my grandfather's favorite sayings was, "You will never be given trials that are greater than your strengths".
I was given a choice today. I could take some steroids mixed with pain medications and limp along being basically handicapped, or under go a painful and exhausting surgery and recovery process, possibly regaining more use of my left arm or possibly gaining nothing.
Being pigheaded I chose months of pain and exhaustion for a smidgeon of hope and gain. In the end, if I do not win, I will lost nothing but time and I will know, I at least tried.
I am happy I chose still my house, I am a mile from everything...or less. Roughly a mile though from the fun stuff. I can do this and keep good spirits, because I goals. Recovery is always going be first and foremost, but secondary...this is the first time I had so much training available for two of my most heartfelt charity runs. In the past I had chose one or the other of my favorite charity runs, because they are but a week apart. I can run, but I need recovery in between, but this year. I all the training time in the world, plus I walk everywhere because I can't drive.
By fall, I should be able run both events . is always a bright side.

When life hands you lemons, screw the lemonade, make limoncello and throw a party!

No pain, no gain,or so the saying goes. Positive thoughts of better days ahead.

Indeed, and if the gains are equivalent to the pain, it will al have gone quite well.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained. May your surgery and recovery be a great success. You go this! Positive attitude, strength of character and a ton of determination.

My grandpa's favorite saying was "Never let them know where your goat is tied."

Good luck with your surgery and may you have a quick recovery!

Life is always full of choices, isn't it? Some are small things, some are bigger and more challenging, but our tomorrows are based on the choices me made yesterday and today. I'm sure you weighed the pros and cons, and picked what you considered the best for you. Now, run with it and never look back and second guess yourself. Take each day and physical therapy challenge and push through..... the time looms long ahead, but periodically you can look back and see how far you have come and how fast the time has actually passed.
Praying for a successful surgery and complete recovery.

Greetings and Blessings to you .
I wish you well in your recovery, You have the power to do much , let your body manage what it can when it can. The Mind and Ego sometimes want to get ahead at the wong time, use the Self and Spirit to pull them back into line.
Keep safe
