Welcome to Week 43 – Q Week: Pearls' Coastal Capers! Featuring: Quest, Quell, Quivett QUEST Cape Cod has over 500 miles of shoreline, occupied by a mix of public beaches and private properties. Coastal homeowners are on a perpetual QUEST for privacy as you can see by the sign on the fence in this photo. Some fun facts about Massachusetts law and beach-goers rights …. You have the right to swim into a private beach area but just don't put your feet down because that would violate beach access law! Also, “fishing, fowling, and navigation” are allowed in private beach areas so make sure to carry a fishing rod on your morning seaside walk! Under discussion now is whether or not bird-watching is considered “fowling” and until that's decided you won't be able to use your binoculars to legalize your coastline stroll. QUELL I think this is the first photo I've posted from my “coastal capers” collection that is not of Cape Cod. I took this photo looking out over Greenwich Bay from the viewpoint of a condo in Rhode Island that I visited back in 2013 when I was shopping around for a home in a slightly warmer climate. I was mesmerized by the water view!! When I returned home from the trip I did tons of research, went to many more open houses, and finally chose a home a few miles inland on Cape over the Warwick water view. What factored into my decision? Many things but the biggest deterrent was the noise of the railroad tracks which were located only feet from the Warwick condo. Everything has turned out really well and I know I made the right decision. Honestly, though, I have never been able to QUELL my desire for oceanfront living. QUIVETT Pretty pink wildflowers growing along the fence at QUIVETT Marsh Vista Conservation Area in Brewster this past May. Beyond the fence is an accessible area with picnic tables, a marshland view including an active osprey platform, and the beautiful waters of Cape Cod Bay. This spring I hope to return to Quivett Marsh Vista to take some panoramic photos. Thanks for joining me for Pearls' Coastal Capers - “Q week”!

I can imagine privacy laws are difficult to enforce.

I miss going to the beach. None very close to us but we have 2 fish ponds, one with 2 large turtles we can see from our kitchen window and one down in the bottom corner of the yard with one turtle that hides most of the time. Probably under the rocks. I guess that is our "beach".

Beautiful..... as usual. Last night, as we sat in the dark when the power went out due to the storm, out of nowhere, Joe said, "I want to go back to the Salem Willows." It made me cry, because it's his desire to go back to the east coast, and it's a physical impossibility for us. Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.
