Welcome to Week 42 – P Week: Pearls' Coastal Capers! Featuring: Paine's Landing, Pleasant Road Beach Winter on Cape Cod is mostly gray, chilly, and quiet which makes photography pretty challenging! But I'm still having fun with it, and planning my photography jaunts around the weather. PAINE'S LANDING – 2 photos On Wednesday I went over to Paine's Landing hoping to catch a pretty sunrise but unfortunately there was no color to speak of. Rather than waste the trip I took some wintry photos of branches. The first photo shows some branches against a cloudless sky and I jazzed them up with a Zeke filter. The second photo is looking upstream at a creek that feeds the Brewster tidal flats. I took it from Paine's Bridge yesterday when I returned to the landing for a second attempt at a colorful photo. PLEASANT ROAD BEACH – 2 photos The third and fourth photos are of Pleasant Road Beach in Harwich, both taken within minutes of each other this past Tuesday. It's amazing how the passage of just a few minutes and a slight change of camera angle can make such a big difference in the way the colors look in the photo! I always enjoy going to this beach because the location speaks to me. It was the first beach I photographed when I moved to the Cape seven years ago. Thanks for joining me for Pearls' Coastal Capers - “P week”!

THE FIRST AND THIRD PHOTOS ARE AMAZING. HOW DIFFERENT CAPE COD IS FROM THE MED COAST IN WINTER. BRIGHT SUNSHINE AND BLUE SEA HERE AND MANY TREES JUST ABOUT NEVER LOSE THEIR LEAVES. I LOVE THAT PHOTO WITH THE FROSTY BRANCHES, IT REMINDS ME MY YOUNG DAYS BY LAKE MICHIGAN AND THE WOODS.

I sat and started at the first photo with interest...... trying to figure out what light source would give that illumination. After I read your explanation, I understood a little better. Lovely area, even in the winter. Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.
