 Welcome to Week 38 – L Week: Pearls' Coastal Capers!

Featuring: Lone, Lifeguard, Ladybug

LONE
I found a lone gull chilling out on the rocks at low tide. It was a sunny October day at Haigis Beach in Dennis Port.

LIFEGUARD
Lifeguard stations at sunrise. Off season at Bank Street Beach in Harwich Port it was a very quiet morning .. just me and a jogger or two.

LADYBUG
A ladybug climbing up a branch on a bright September morning at Scargo Tower, a scenic landmark overlooking Scargo Lake.

Lol, yes Jonathan is having a peaceful morning. Wonder where the rest of the Breakfast Flock is. I'm used to seeing seagulls in big groups!

Thanks, Maudie! Glad you enjoyed them. I'm having fun with the learning process for this new found hobby. I had no idea my cell phone camera had a feature that allows me to focus on specific objects in the viewfinder ... until my daughter saw the out-of-focus ladybug and told me about the feature! I love learning.

 I DOUBT LIFEGUARDS HAVE MUCH TO DO ON THE BEACHES THIS TIME OF YEAR. WE HAVE A FEW SWIMMERS WHO BATHE ALL YEAR ROUND AND I OFTEN WONDER WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IN ONE WERE IN TROUBLE IN THE WATER.

Lifeguards are only on duty here from Memorial Day to Labor Day but the lifeguard stations are permanently installed so they're visible year round. Fortunately I haven't heard of any off-season swimming accidents at least while I've lived on Cape but there is always a first time. I agree that off season swimmers are taking a risk .. certainly one that I wouldn't take!

 Enjoyed all three pictures, especially the lifeguard station one.
It only takes a drop of ink to make a million people think. There are many stories.

 I miss being able to go to the beach like we used to when I lived in California.

We do have 2 small cement ponds in our back yard with 2 large turtles in one and one in the bottom cement pond.......they are hibernating now but will show again in Spring.

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the sunrise. I remember how beautiful and peaceful it was that morning when I was out on the beach taking the photo.

The ponds sound lovely! I've always been fascinated by pond life. When I lived in NH my condo overlooked a pond and I remember how much fun it was to watch the otters, ducks, and even an occasional visit by a heron! That will be great when the turtles return this spring .. bet you can't wait! Glad you enjoyed the photos.
