Welcome to Week 32 – F Week: Pearls' Coastal Capers!

Featuring: Fog, Fence, Foliage, Field, Forest

FOG
Just after sunrise this past September, fog over Scargo Lake.

FENCE
At Smuggler's Beach in South Yarmouth, this is the fence at the end of the footpath.

FOLIAGE
Fowl in the foreground with foliage. Yep, that's a turkey just chillin' out in the parking lot of the neighborhood grocery store.

FIELD
A field of spring flowers at Bass River Park in West Dennis.

FOREST
This morning's sunrise at Forest Beach in South Chatham.

Thanks for joining me for Pearls' Coastal Capers - “F week”!

Great pictures of the letter F!

We often see wild turkeys and the other day 2 of them were eating a neighborhood cat they had killed. Our friend across the street walked over to see it too.

Oh goodness! Sad and surprising too because wild turkeys are not known for killing or eating animals other than bugs and reptiles. So sorry to hear about the cat.

Great series of picture, I really like the field one.

It only takes a drop of ink to make a million people think. There are many stories.

Thanks! Bass River Park is such a nice place to sit and look out over the water. I often take a travel mug of coffee over there and watch the wildlife.

I especially like the first one.....I love foggy days.....I have gotten lost a time or two in the boat on very fog days, but it can be incredibly beautiful on the water in a fog........

We have turkey vultures in West Virginia. They don't usually kill their own food but clean up what is already dead. It is possible that the cat died some other way and the turkeys dined on the carcass

I very much enjoyed your selection of 'F' pictures, Pearls. The standout for me is the mirrored water/tranquility of the first shot (fog) - it is so beautifully calming. Sunrise at Forest Beach's interesting composition is also aesthetically pleasing.

Glad you liked the fog photo! It didn't occur to me until after I got home after taking the photo that I probably should have taken a quick drive up to the top of the hill that overlooks the lake. I bet looking down over the foggy lake would have been pretty. Oh well .. next time!

Thanks for your comment! I learned something today .... there is apparently a difference between wild turkeys and turkey vultures, and their food preferences differ. Who knew?! I think from what Google says Cape Cod has both so I'm not certain which type of turkey is in the photograph. Either way, I'm always happy to learn something new.

Thanks, Lilium! The Forest Beach photo was a last minute idea, taken just hours before I put up my Foto Friday post. I'm glad I decided to drive over to capture the sunrise .. had never been to that beach before.

Your pictures are always so full of peace for me. They often bring back memories of places I seen in our travels to New England, but that last one actually made me think of the sands on the north end of Folly Island in South Carolina.

Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

Thanks! My iPhone has been automatically preparing reels based on what's in my photo archive. It's a cool feature that I didn't know about until recently. The program flashes from scene to scene accompanied by background music. Some of the scenes even have a few seconds of video because the photos were taken in "live mode". When I watch the reels I get a peaceful feeling just as you're describing! Windows has a similar feature that's really easy to use and I have been thinking about using it to create a slideshow of beachy photos.

Love your new profile photo! Merry Christmas!
