Welcome to Week 31 – E Week: Pearls' Coastal Capers!

Featuring: Earle, Englewood, Encore, Early, Estuarine

EARLE
A December morning at Earle Road beach in West Harwich. I love the golden glow of sunrise washing over the sand and beach grass.

ENGLEWOOD
Sunrise at Engelwood Beach in West Yarmouth on a chilly late fall day. All beaches have free parking off-season, but this is one of the few that offer free parking in-season too!

ENCORE
Serving a creative menu in an upscale indoor or alfresco environment, Encore Bistro and Bar has a perfect location on the grounds of the Cape Playhouse and right next to the Cape Cod Art Museum. A perfect night out!

EARLY
An early spring day at Horsefoot Cove Landing. I remember how happy I was to see signs of spring when I took this photo after the long 2020-2021 winter.

ESTUARINE
Paine's Creek estuarine flats at low tide. This is the westerly end of 12,000 acres of tidal flats running along Cape Cod Bay from Brewster, through Orleans, and into Eastham.

Thanks for joining me for Pearls' Coastal Capers - “E week”!

Beautiful "E" photos. My favourite two are Earle and Horsefoot Cove, I love the blue sky, sea, swaying grass and pretty yellow shrub. All lovely in their own way.

Thanks, Maudie! Earle Road Beach is one of my favorites too. This was my second attempt at photographing that location and it came out much better than my first!

Exquisite waterfront scenes. It makes me wish that I didn't live in a landlocked state.

Pearls, you live in such a beautiful area of the country, and yes, I am envious. We have traveled nowhere in over two years, but we were just discussing how it would be nice to "move south for the winter". The logistics are daunting, and I know it won't happen.......... but I can dream, can't I?

I agree, Mrs. Joe, the Cape is a beautiful area. And I know that I'm lucky to be able to live here but I also think there are plusses and minuses of anywhere a person chooses to settle. The Cape for example is a great place to live from September through June but July and August are truly dreadful for people like me who don't like traffic and crowds. High season is so bad in fact that I started researching how I might move out of the area for those two months every year (kind of like your idea of moving south for the winter but in reverse!). I gave up on the idea after considering the logistics of moving my cat with me into a rental unit ... he's cute but a little destructive. So I'm refocusing on enjoying the good parts of living here and finding ways to deal with the challenging months, such as running errands at 7 a.m. before the beach traffic starts!
