Yesterday I took some photos of Nanutcket Sound and when I got home I worked on cropping them. Usually when I crop a photo it is clear to me which version to publish: the original or the cropped version. But this time it was different. The two versions have two totally different stories to tell and I find each one interesting in its own right. The original photo (the top one) shows a beach house on the left with Haigis Beach overlook on the right. The cropped version (second photo) shows just the overlook. I'd be interested to know your thoughts on the two versions!

To me, both look breathtaking! Why? I Can't explain! Stay safe, Pearl.

Now you've done it...... given me a choice to make. Pearls, it's MUCH too early in the morning for this! I can't even decide whether to put my slippers on or go barefoot. As for your pictures, both are fantastic. I love the idea of a house overlooking the water..... and also the cropped one that focuses on the benches to sit near the water. Can I just pick both? Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

There is no need to compare. Both stories are equally valid.

They are both lovely, Pearls. But I think the second photo gives a closer view of the sky and water. It will be interesting to see what Koffla and Simplelady have to say, they are both such keen and good photographers .

Hello Pearl, usually I edit my photographs too. They are both good. But I like more the original photo, it has more details. The house and the fence makes the photo complete. The second photo, like Maudie said it gives a better view of the sky and water. Very nice photograph! I like them both. That's my opinion! "The only way to have a friend is to be one."

I prefer the second photo because I get a sense of solitude, of being alone to quietly drink in nature. Koffla's suggestion of capturing an image of the home at night when the lights are on, appeals; a few small pockets of light surrounded by darkness.

Oh Pearls your photos are so lovely. Kofla did a nice job of using the Topaz Clarity filter on your photos. They all look wonderful and I wish I was more talented in editing my photos.
