Welcome to Week 17: Tour of Cape Cod – Q Week! Featuring: Quiet, Quartz, Quintessential, Quinoa, Quivet, Quahog QUIET The bay side of Cape Cod is known to be very peaceful. I took this photo of a very quiet bay side beach a few hours after sunrise on a warm late-August morning. QUARTZ My seagull friend here is perched on a chunk of quartz, a very pretty stone but hard to capture its brilliance in a photo. Doesn't the photo make him look huge? He's actually only two inches tall! QUINTESSENTIAL Quintessential Cape Cod can mean different things to different people. From clambakes on the beach, to antiquing, from sunning to cocktails on the deck there is something for everyone. To me, quintessential Cape Cod is a cottage like the one in this photo with stairs down to a private sandy ocean beach. P.S. It's not my cottage .. it just happened to be easy to photograph from where I was standing on a public beach and it reminds me of childhood vacations in a similar cottage. QUINOA Coffee and a crunchy quinoa bar for an afternoon snack while debating whether to follow this break with a walk on the beach. QUIVET Quivet Neck is a rustic, serene and historic area located along Old King's Highway. Quivet Neck has two public beaches: Cold Storage Beach, and this one, Sea Street Beach (my favorite!). QUAHOG Quahogs are a type of thick shelled clam, found along the eastern seaboard of the United States. The shells are often made into pretty purple jewelry typically referred to as wampum. My trinket dish is a good example of the deep purple color of the shell but as far as an example of the jewelry I'm afraid you'll have to use your imagination because as hard as I looked in all my little tucked away boxes of earrings I couldn't find a single pair made of wampum! Thanks for joining me for “Q week” on Cape Cod!

IT IS AMAZING CAPE COD STILL LOOKS VERY MUCH AS I REMEMBER IT AND I WAS 14 AT THE TIME. HOW HAS IT BEEN PRESERVED?

Wow, a brilliant selection of "Q" photos. I love Mr seagull perched on the chunk of quartz. The fifth photo is beautiful, just look at that fabulous sky.

Wow Pearls you have quite a selection of subjects for the letter "Q". I was curious as to what you were going to be posting today. I was having trouble finding subjects to post. My favorite is the last one of the quahog clam shell used as a trinket. The pearl earrings are a nice contrast in the shell. Well done PearlsWithMyJeans.

Amazing how you could find pictures for all the letters of the alphabet, just in this Cape Cod tour! I love the bird made of quartz. They're all good photos.

That seagull on Quartz is precious. Great pics and love of the beachy scenes.

As always, the beach shots catch my attention. The quinoa bar looks interesting, I'd be keen to try one out of curiosity (I find dark chocolate with a high cocoa content a little too bitter making it difficult to enjoy). I love the understated elegance of the simple quahog trinket dish with pearl earrings - so beautiful Pearls.

Quite lovely as usual. Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.
