I'm having so much fun following the Town of Yarmouth's Sand Sculpture Trail! From what I understand the trail will be active into the fall. So happy to have an extended opportunity to take photos. I wonder what they use to keep the sand sculptures intact through wind and rain storms.

Grogu is adorable. I would love for him to come live with me and join the rest of my Magickal creatures in the herbal garden. That Maple Spice Macchiato looks yummy with or without the pumpkin spice,

The water in your photos today is so calm and smooth, almost glasslike. I find the sand sculptures fascinating. I may look it up, but the thought crossed my mind: what holds them together?
Joe's family didn't use milk in their espresso, they all seemed to prefer liqueurs like Amaretto or Anisette. I drink coffee, but I never developed the taste for theirs or other sweetened coffees with milk.

BEFORE THE PANDEMIC, WE HAD AN ANNUAL SAND STATUE COMPETITION ON THE BEACHES. THIS YEAR THERE IS A ROMANIAN FELLOW WHO DOES GREAT SAND STATUES OF DOGS, THE POLICE CHASED HIM AWAY BUT HE IS BACK NOW.

Great Pics! I love the mermaid sitting on a lobster. I was wondering how they keep the sculptures together too?

I agree .. Grogu is really cute! I had no idea of who he was until I did a little research so I learned something while taking that photo!

From what I have read, the company that commissioned the sculpture got some reactions from the public back in 2016 when their mermaid sculpture that year was a little too buxom! lol

Yes, very quiet water in these photos. One was a river and the other was an inlet so not much in the way of waves. I agree that plain coffee is great. It's my go-to beverage. Whipped cream is for special occasions only. Gotta keep my cholesterol in check!

Glad to hear the the Romanian sculptor is back, and I hope next year the annual sand sculpture competition can return!

I was curious too so I did a quick web search and found this: "Sand artists use building sand that has angular grains and contains silt and clay, this binds the sand and keeps it together.". In separate articles I also saw something about adding either glue or baking soda. The ones on the trail I've been photographing are expected to last into the fall so they must have some heavy-duty binding ingredient.

Pearls you have quite an assortment of photos for the letter "M". You are such a good photographer and certainly do the photos justice. You live in an interesting state with lots of culture. The sculptures are so cool. The artist certainly has a great eye for his subjects.

Thank you for this week's Cape Cod tour Pearls - the ''moon'' and ''moored'' shots of timeless tranquillity are beautifully captured and I can't go past the magnolia tree without breathing in its heavenly scent - beautiful

Courtesy Dr. G00gle, sand sculptures are protected from the elements by a biodegradable windscreen sprayed onto the sculpture's surface after completion (sand sculptors build their pieces with easy water drainage in mind).

A magnificent selection of" M" photos Pearls. I love the beautiful magnolia tree that blooms in the merry month of May, and the cute Crogu and Mermaid sand sculptures. Marvelous pictures one and all.

Thanks, Shartaun! I'm really enjoying the process of finding and photographing the sculptures.

Thanks, Lilium! I was glad to read about the fact that the sprayed-on windscreen is biodegradable. Over the past decade or so Cape Cod's drinking water has reportedly degraded somewhat so it's good news that the sculpture event isn't putting more chemicals into the ground.

Glad to know you like those two! I struggled with the cropping on the last photo, trying to feature the boat while still including some of the tree and clouds. To keep the photo rectangular I had to settle for a little too much tree but I'll live with it!

Very nice presentation of the letter"M", Pearls. Always, when I see Sand Sculptures, I wonder how they survive such a long time. I would love being close to the water....

Thanks, Myseek! Yes, I agree that it's amazing how the sculptures last so long. The ones I have been photographing are on main streets at businesses away from the shoreline so they're not exposed to tides and sea breezes. But even so it's still quite surprising that they can withstand rain storms, etc.
