I like a combination of eating out and cooking at home. I do get tired of my own cooking and although I'm a good cook, I don't prefer cooking. Cooking for one doesn't often allow for much creativity unless you want a lot of leftovers....

C'mon !!! You're learning to use a gun and fly a drone...and it's too late for you to learn how to cook?

Sounds like a copout to me !!!

Start out with the basics. When I was young and growing up I started cooking. Scrambled eggs was one thing I could make. My dad was the type who would eat most anything. Baking was a favorite of mine so baking cookies was an easy thing to learn. I slowly expanded and graduated into more difficult things. I even learned how to make bread.

Just a thought...... I'm sure your lady friend is supporting you in the expertise/interests you have. Would it be too much for her to want your support in this exprtise of hers?

Good luck~~~
