I found a solid paper from my youngest leading to his 5th Great Grandfather and what a surprise. Abraham LeGrant born in 1798 was the head household of Free Blacks. I suspect that this was his first family. Next I find a marriage certificate between him and a white woman Margaret Brand. I found land grants and more censuses for the family in Wisconsin. This was one of the few states that allowed interracial marriages. There were 11 - all listed as Mulattos. Later Censuses listed them as White.

So last month, I was talking to my 's 2nd cousin who also on Anc*stry. A DNA test was done for my but no African DNA showed up in the testing HOWEVER his cousin was wondering where the Africa Southeastern Bantu DNA in her test came from. The elders never told her about Old Abraham if they even knew.

When I told my - he thought it was cool - however he warned me, "Don't TELL Grandma and don't tell my Dad. Personally, I thought the LeGrants were awesome people. He relocated to place where he and his family could find prosperity and they did prosper. I found land grants and farms. This would not have happen if he stayed on the east coast. Several of the LeGrant boys fought in the Union Army in the Civil War.

Of course I DID immediate get on the phone to call my ex-hubby - Billy's father to tell him ALL about his family tree. I wish my DNA was as interesting. 92 percent British. HO HUM!!!!

What are the Chances for a Successful Impeachment?

The only thing that saved Clinton from being removed from office was a Democrat Majority. It seems like the Texas Congressman Green was talking about impeachment from Day One before Trump had a chance to even do anything wrong.

The idea that the Russian rigged the elections is totally ridiculous.

What I remember about the Clinton Impeachment was endless talk about the fact that he needed a cigar to do the job and ill gotten oral pleasure. He appears to not be very good at the task anyway. Suspicious stains on the blue dress tell the tale.

It was much ado about nothing - time consuming and a waste of tax payer dollars. Even if Clinton were successfully unseated - Al Gore would have taken his place a few months before the term would have ended regardless.

So Trump is going to have to tick off a lot of Republicans if he is to get booted out of the office. There are 238 Republicans and 193 Democrats in the House. There are 54 Republicans ,44 Democrats and 4 independents in the Senate.
per gOOgle search

There is always the possibility that Trump will resign like Nixon did but can anyone really visualize that happening? What will happen if Trump leave office for whatever reason?

We get MIKE PENCE for President.
Mandatory Church for EVERYONE especially CONGRESS!!!

Genealogy is what I do. I do it for family, friends. the DAR and the local Historical Society. I just LOVE digging up those skeletons and that knock some folks out of their comfort zone.

I created paternal trees for my two biological sons and my step-. So....I recently received a message that I should REMOVE the paternal tree for my oldest because his father and I never married. His Father didn't want to deal with it apparently some of the member of that family don't want to deal with it either.

So I told the lady, the tree stays. Genealogy is about facts regardless of comfort zones. I am not going to shush my older 's paternity anymore than I would hide the fact that my younger has black ancestry. I was certainly not happy to find out that my maternal ancestors were slave owners but we can't whitewash history not even family history

The problem with Witch Hunts is the Alleged Witches have something that the accusers want. History repeats itself - when dubious values stay the same.

I was researching my younger 's genealogy and discovered why two Garner brothers suddenly came to the New World with their sons.

Thomas, John and Richard each inherited a third interest in the Lion Inn, a carriage inn at Shrewbury, England. Thomas married Mary Lacye. She was drowned as a witch in 1635 in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England. Richard married Katharn. She was drowned as a witch in 1636 in Shropshire, England. Thomas and Richard took their and immigrated to Virginia in 1636 and 1637. Richard “freely gave” his share of the inn to brother John,

There is speculation that the motivation for the accusations may have been that somebody wanted the brothers' interest in the Lion Inn. The Lion Inn is still in operation today.

The same scenerio occurred at the Salem Witch Trials. The Church aka Cotton Mathers acquired the property of the accused witches. The trials stopped when the girls accused the Governor's wife. Someone truly honest could have seen through the antics of the accusers and stopped it.

So now we go to the Witch Hunts in Washington DC. It doesn't matter what party - they both do it. Millions of Tax dollars have investigated Clinton's ill gotten sensual gratification, Obama's birth place, Hillary's E-Mails and now Trump's alleged love affair with the Russians. A logical person can compare the accusers with the antics of the from the Salem Witch Trails. Ridiculous. They don't care about true justice, they want what their opponent has and they are too stupid to get it honestly.

Incidentally - Mary and Katharn were both found innocent of Witchcraft because they died. This means they were entitled to Christian Burials paid for by the Crown.

I don't care if it was Clinton or Donald. BOTH are dirty dancing with Corporations that care nothing about the people and everything about their own greed.

One is not going to be bad as the Naysayers declare nor as great as the Yea-sayers cry out. The Electoral College has spoken - Drumpf is the President for better or worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health until election (or impeachment) do we part.

There is anticipation by the Yea-sayers who are of the opinion that a Business Man in the Oval Office will support businesses that the rich to get richer but the poor will also get richer. Ideal Capitalism is about responsible growth.

There is also the case for government interference in favor of Big Business at the expense of the Little Guy such as supporting Monsanto patenting living things like corn, being reckless in how their seed is transported, and suing farmers for their seed being blown out of the truck and germinating on their farm.

I was recently in Washington talking to Senators about Abuses of Power and Law by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) Private land is seized by Eminent Domain to build pipelines to carry fossil fuels for EXPORT!!! This is at the expense of small businesses, the environment, and the economy.

Ideally, Businesses should be able to regulate themselves responsible and care about the people and communities where they reside. Sadly, many of them only care about profit, pay the workers unlivable wages and pollute everything. Government supports their greed versus the people who elected them into office.

Check and Balances are on the Agenda!!!

Positve aspects of Hunting

Every Fall, West Virginia folks start gearing up for Hunting Season. I remember bags of corn and sweet feed going through my checkout line. I would comment to the customer. West Virginia really LOVES their wild life. I would tell the customer that they are welcome to set up a tree stand in my backyard. Those annoying deer LOVE my garden.

Many of the small towns in West Virginia will allow bow hunting in the cities for that very reason. It is amusing to listen to some of the big city dwellers cry about the cruelty of shooting Bambi and Yogi Bear but those of us who live in rural areas know the practicality of it. It reduces the animal population which is ultimately better for the wildlife while providing meat in the refrigerator for the families. Hunters also donate venison to the food panties.

There is much ado about the Trump brothers and their African Hunting expeditions. The sad reality is that in places like Africa can sustain populations of large and dangerous animals like elephants, lions, and rhino. Human Population growth has reduced the land suitable for these animals to live on  They are already at, or exceeding their carrying capacity.  This results with animals into conflict with people.

Seeing large species of African game like elephants and lion on vacation, particularly for the first time, is a truly amazing experience. However, living with them on a daily basis is a whole other deal entirely.

Large game hunting provides jobs for the villagers. It controls the animal population to a more manageable number. The meat is often given to the people.

]Last month three women and I took the train to Washington D.C. Deni and I had gone there a few weeks earlier for the People's March on Climate Change. Now it was time to take action - We connect with the Delaware River Keeper and set up meeting to talk with various member of Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources.

We stayed at the International Guest House on Sunday which is run by the Mennonites. I am always curious about different cultures and religions and used to ask customers a lot of questions when I was cashiering. The Mennonites that I encountered were always aloof. The men wore beards while the women dressed in pioneer style dressed with funky caps.

It is ironic because quite a few people compare Quakers to Mennonites. The Quakers do have a philosophy of simplicity but have abandoned the mandatory gray attire. Although I like gray because it makes colors pop out.

There was an evening of High Tea with the Mennonites. (Actually it was cookies and hot tea) I learned that not all Mennonites dressed in the pioneer dress with the head covering. I found out that the reason the more conservative Mennonites are so distance is because we represent "There World that they are in but not of."

I mentioned how my town was hit by a flood last year. There was massive damage with several homes damaged and altogether lost. The Mennonites were repairing and building Hope Village for people who have lost their home. I was told that this is part of what they do.

It is funny how some folks will knock people of faith - but they were the first ones on the front line when White Sulphur Springs got devastated by that flood.

We spent the rest of the week sleeping on the floor of a Lutheran Church with Mats and sleeping bags. It was near the Senate Buildings and the price was right. FREE!!!!One of the women was joking about how we were homeless. "Naw! The homeless one is sleeping outside on the church steps." I pointed out.

We were getting on the train in White Sulphur Springs. It was pouring down rain. The train was two hours late because an 18 wheeler ran into another train.. My friends were thanking me for helping them get around - Uber and the Metro. They were especially thanking me for the experience with the Mennonites. Suddenly a gray haired lady approached us and asked if we were Mennonites. Apparently she was with the Mennonite Disaster Service and waiting for someone to pick her up. She mentioned St. Thomas Episcopal Church which was right by my home. I was getting ready to help load her stuff in my car to take her there when the Van marked Mennonite Disaster Service pulled up.

I don't care what anyone says "That was a God Shot!"

My Aunt Maryann was the family genealogist and I followed her footsteps. I have resources that she did not have and I am able to find the paper trail although I do run into brick walls. It is so much fun when they start trembling down.

One of the Skeleton's is regarding my maternal grandfather Winterstein. He was sent to prison when my mother was a . I am not exactly sure why he was sent to prison at that time but I did find records from his earlier years.

I found a Census where he was sent to the Preston School of Industry at the age of 15 for forgery. This was a reform school for boys which sadly had a reputation for abuse. Sexual, physical, emotional - the school is a hotspot for paranormal activities

He aged out and was sent to San Quentin to finish his sentence for another two years.

I heard stories about my "criminal" grandfather but I have to wonder how the experiences of his earlier years lead him to that path. The Rumor was that his mother died in an insane asylum. That rumor was false. She left Jack's father - leaving him with the boys and taking the girl. She remarried.

I find him in a later census in Chicago living with his alleged "dead" mother. This is shortly after he left prison. He married my grandmother and my mother was born. He returned to California which may have been a mistake. I am suspecting that he was picked up for the parole violation of leaving the state.

He was law-abiding by the time I met him. I have to wonder why a 15 year old boy is sent into an institution where there is abuse. If the Preston School of Industry actually did what it was intended when built - there might have been a different outcome for his life.

Maybe this is one of the reasons that I have lobbied for Prison Sentencing Reform. I am doing it for Granddaddy Winterstein.

Criticize the president, lose your job Dah!

The president, she said, "took a break from his busy schedule of tweeting nonsense words to target her satire, calling her 'sick.' Melania Trump, who has remained silent about her husband's effort to deny health care to 24 million Americans, cut Meals on Wheels and Planned Parenthood, chose to break her silence on news events to personally challenge Kathy's mental health. Donald Trump Jr. took a break from killing leopards and elephants to hound CNN and its anchors on Twitter to try to get them, not just to fire her, but to ban her from the network entirely."
The message is clear, says Bloom: "Criticize the president, lose your job
."
per gOOgle Research

In 2012 a California woman was fired from her job at Cold Stone Creamery and probed by Secret Service after posting on FB "Another 4 years of this n*gger. Maybe he will get assassinated this term... Cold Stone Creamery said it was “disgusted” by the racist, threatening remarks.

More recently - A West Virginia Nonprofit director was fired for posting on FB ""It will be refreshing to have a classy, beautiful, dignified first lady back in the White House. I'm tired of seeing an ape in heels." The Mayor resigned for supporting and LIKING the post.

I can't believe that Kathy Griffin is calling #45 a "Bully" for responding for calling her actions sick because she was holding an effigy of his severed bloody head and she expects his wife and NOT to react. She is calling it Free Speech which it might be but there are consequences.

People have a right to be racist or have issues with #45 but sometimes it's more practical to take care how or where you express those prospectives.

68 mayors adopt Paris climate accord after U.S. pulls out

The 68 mayors who previously pledged to ignore President Donald Trump’s climate change policies have upped their commitment after he announced his intent to withdraw the U.S. from the Paris climate accord: At least 68 cities are adopting the historic agreement themselves.

A total of 68 mayors have joined the Climate Mayors agreement
The group of mayors, who represent more than 36 million Americans and some of the largest U.S. cities, outlined a plan to align with the other 194 nations that adopted the accord:
We will continue to lead. We are increasing investments in renewable energy and energy efficiency. We will buy and create more demand for electric cars and trucks. We will increase our efforts to cut greenhouse gas emissions, create a clean energy economy, and stand for environmental justice. And if the President wants to break the promises made to our allies enshrined in the historic Paris Agreement, we’ll build and strengthen relationships around the world to protect the planet from devastating climate risks.

The members of the Mayors National Climate Action Agenda known as the Climate Mayors had previously announced in March that they would not enforce an executive order that rolled back the previous administration’s policies to regulate energy production and reduce emissions.
