My oldest s0n is celebrating Father's Day #iv - His financial realities are far greater than mine so I am often hard pressed to find an appropriate gift. I usually manage to find something meaningful that will make him laugh.

Earlier this year, he sent me a message that he caught the "FiretrUCKING" Covid-19 Virus. This was a few days after his first vaccination. My s0n and his wife have been very careful and conscientious about protecting themselves and the public. Still, as an essential worker not on the list on priorities everyone in his workspace caught it.

He felt like crap for awhile but was able to go back to work within X days. He went back to one of the old building that he used to work in. He found a case of Cherry Coke Zero in his locker. This has been really difficult to find during the pandemic.
He opened the can in anticipation and it tasted like seltzer. What a bummer.

A few weeks ago, I asked him if his taste buds had recovered. He assured me that they had returned to normal.

I sent him a jar of cherries with the joke
How grams of protein are there is a cherry pi?

A few days later a case of Cherry Coke Zero arrived for him.

Obnoxious X-anity Versus Dreaded Atheists & Constitutional Conservatives

Thomas Jefferson Quotes "Why should I care if my neighbor worships no God or One Hundred Gods aka Roman Numeral "C" Gods. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg" afterwards he proceeded draft the Virginia Statue Religious Freedom. This is the forerunner of the first amendment protections for religious freedom.

I have laugh when Ms. Multiple Profiles will list the name of those dreaded Atheist as if she expects everyone gasp in unison. She will quote Bible Verses prove her point folks who don't acknowledge the validity of the Bible or the statement that they are destined Hades that they don't acknowledge.

Exactly what she accomplishes is appear foolish and possible embarrass the deity that she is trying plug. She is obviously not a Constitutional Conservative.

There was a time when Religious Choices were subjected the dictates of the Crown, Political or Clergy in Charge. This led dire consequence those who thought otherwise. The Virginia Statue Religious Freedom and the First Amendment were created eliminate those scenarios.

Current day churches and other religious orders (synagogues and mosques) provide food, clothing, housing, health care job assistants those in need. They send volunteers disaster areas rebuild communities. A few years back, when my own town was devastated by the One Thousand aka Roman Numeral "M" FLOOD. The Mormonite Disaster Service came to town. Hope Village was built for those who lost homes and building repairs were done by other church groups as well.

Atheists may point out the evil history of religion with validity. That is not the case with most current day churches in the United States. They may have views and prospective that not in agreement but if it doesn't pick pockets or break legs; why worry.

Constitutional Conservatism is the focus on how a society of people with very different values can live together.

Mr. C's Polar Bear, Step VIII & Fathers

Step VIII involves making amends people that we have harmed. This can be a challenge when these people have died. I grew up in a household where was violence. This was not discipline of a , this was lashing out in anger that had nothing do with the . One of my biggest regrets was not being able protect my siblings.

Ironically, my mother was the abusive one while the blame was projected on my father. was an incident where my father tried intervene when my mother was wailing on me. She started wailing at my father and he blocked the punch. Suddenly she is on the phone telling my grandmother that my father was "beating" her.

My Grandmother drove our house, packed up the car with all five siblings, and I had listen for two hours "any man beats a woman..........." A few days later, my mother was back in the mental institution and they blamed my father. Dah!!!

I spent years coddling my mother and trying amend our relationship. Forgiveness was a process that took years. Years later, I realized "Why didn't I stand up for DAD!!!! I should have told my grandmother and mother to go firetruck themselves. was the realization that I owed my father a major league amends. I took a trip to Washington D.C and ran the War Memorials to honor my Veteran Father.

Later, Mr. C talked about that subject. He owed his dead father an amends. He went the desert - stood out in the desert terrain and did a prayer and amends to his Dad. He looked down and found a Polar Bear figurine. He kept that Polar Bear in his truck. The truck was stolen and wrecked. The Polar Bear was lost. I found a Polar Bear at Tractor Supply Company and placed in his new truck.

Mr. C. and I frequently participated in running events together. He was in his 60's but usually placed in the top III. I was in my 50's at the time and always placed in the bottom III. Mr. C was diagnosed with ALS and passed away two years ago. While I was thinking about him, I found a Polar Bear in my car. My plan to incorporate that bear in my Fairy Garden entry was delays. Perhaps this year, I can honor Mr. C and even my Dad. He deserved better.

Federal Energy Regulatory Commission

My Quaker Girlfriend is very much the environmental activist and I have accompanied her on her many adventures. We have gone lobbying in Washington D.C. and were escorted out of the FERC building by the secret police.

Ironically, GF and I were behaving ourselves but the others around us were not. There were some who actually welcomed the idea of getting arrested for the cause. Call me a wuss, but I have no desire to get my hands zip-tied together, tossed into a paddy wagon and trying to figure out how to get out of the cage they throw me in.

I have been to a number of protests, demonstrations and other events in Washington D.C. I have learned to stay on the outskirts so that if there is trouble, I can get away from it quickly.

events that I cancelled plans attend were Charlottesville and the January th Event in Washington D.C. I am glad I didn't go.

Grumpy's Dragons and the Fairy Mirrors

My late husband was Irish and we talked about fairies, dragons and gnomes quite often. He talked about the horrors of Catholic School and the abusive nun Sister Natalie. He talked about being forced go church by his mother. He was turned off by all forms of organized religion.

I started participating in NA Sweat Lodge ceremonies and he suddenly became very interested. He wouldn't go into the lodge itself but he liked assisting the firekeeper.
This lead to the exploration of early European spiritual beliefs including the Irish inclination toward fairies, gnomes, and dragons.

We relocated from California to West Virginia in 1999. I immediately made fairy mirrors and tied them onto the maple tree in our front yard. Grumpy lost his cigarette lighter, blamed the fairies, and tore down the fairy mirrors. I quietly put them them back up. It was good for a laugh.

Grumpy took a plane back to California for a wedding. He picked up a ceramic dragon and placed it in a pet carrier for the return trip. When asked what was in the carrier, he told them that it was his pet dragon. He was advised that animals were not allowed on the plane. After carefully inspecting the contents of the pet carrier, they made an exception for the dragon now resides in West Virginia.

]West Virginia State Fair 2019 - I work at the State Fair every year. I was looking at the different displays and noted the Fairy Garden displays. I thought I could do that so I started looking for fairies. They started coming from all corners of the nation via the USPS.

Along comes the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 which cancelled the State Fair. So my Fairies had stay on hold. Sometimes God timing which does not coincide with my timing is perfect.

This beautiful angel came in the today. She has wings just like the fairies and I think she might fits perfectly with my Fairy Garden Display for the 2021 West Virginia State Fair.

Thank You MrsJoe!!!!

Photo Friday The Letter E

I submitted an "E" Photo last week despite the SFF Glitch and could do another one this week. I suppose I could do "Election" since I was a poll worker this week however............

The week before, I walked into the local antique shop. I found some awesome crystal balls. I told the owner that at least one of them needed to come live with me and I would come get it when my realities allowed to do so.

I got a check in the from the city for my services as a poll worker. So off to the Antique Shop, I went. I grabbed one of the crystal balls and for it. I started scrying and telling the owner that the Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders would be coming to the shop with the intentions of compromising his virtue. No, they are not, the shop owner replied. Everyone started chuckling. Another man remarked, the cheerleaders are welcome to do whatever they want with him.

I grabbed the second crystal ball and told him that it wanted to live with me. Once again scrying, I told him that he would be heading to the opera with an old lady instead. That he can handle.

I have two new members of my household. Yee Haw!!!!!

TBT - WV State Fair & The Joy of Lost Parking Places.

Every year, I sell tickets at the State Fair. The same crew plus a few new ones come back. It is always a great reunion and we have a lot of fun.

Since retiring, I like part/time temporary/ and seasonal work. No major league commitments, just enough cash to get on the train and travel. There was no State Fair in 2020 courtesy of Covid-19. There will be one this year. Yippee!!!

Parking can be a major league nightmare if one forgets where they parked. I've done it a few time and was able to find it by sounding the horn but I needed help figuring out the direction.

Thank God for cell phones, What I do now is take a photo of nearby landmarks so that I can easily find it when I get off work that night. There is an employee parking lot but it is frequently filled.

When I was taking a photo of the "D" sign, the State Trooper asked what I was doing. I advised him that he didn't want to help me find my car that night. There is always a method to my madness.

God Shots and Another Near Miss

Monday, I had to pick up the election package for my precinct. I ended up with the position of head poll worker and thought to myself, "Oh Lord! I don't know what I am doing but we do have an instruction book so I will figure it out. It is a huge responsibility because I am part of preserving the integrity of the election process.

I picked up the package, drove home and left it in my car and walked into my apartment. I suddenly heard a bunch of rain, thunder, lightning, and wind. We get used to it in West Virginia. Shortly afterward, I got a phone call from a former neighbor.

He advised me that a tree fell on my car and the landlord was "getting rid of the evidence" by chain sawing the tree away. Dah! I am sure happy that I didn't have to remove that tree by myself.

If I had been in that car, ten minutes earlier, that tree would have fallen on the car with me in the car. My thought was "OMG! That that election set-up material is in my car. The integrity of the election is on me.

By the time I checked out my car, it was fine. The car next to mine lost the back windshield glass. My car has a minor few scratches and dents but all the doors opened and everything worked.

So I was able to get to the local school to set up the local election at 530 am the next morning. I was looking through the instruction book, thinking OMG!!! One young woman, a teacher volunteered to do the books. Another senior lady volunteered to man the ballot box while a second one wanted to assist her. We had two Democrats, an Independent, and a Republican for the percent. Technically during an election, all tasks must be completed by two individuals of the opposite party but the two Marys (both democrats were working so well together that I wasn't about to bust up a good working team. The Independent and I worked together to take care of the books. (Two opposite parties)

It was a long day. The candidates for Mayor and City Counsel were all incumbents running unopposed. We got 11 Voters the entire day. There were four precincts in the building. I doubt if we got 50 votes for the whole town.

A few years back, I ran for city council a few towns away. I didn't win but I got 77 votes. I got more votes in that election than the entire town in this election. After dropping the ballots and package off at City Hall, I highly recommended that they promote the young Independent for the next election. Apparently, they asked her about it, she declined, saying she wasn't sure that she could. She was a rock star. I am sure that she has the confidence next election.

As I was leaving I ran into a fellow Republican. She asked if I thought that Trump would get back in. I told her that I think we need to move on. You can't move on to the next chapter if you keep rereading the last chapter. I wish that some folks would get off that "Hate Trump" platform but they are not doing to.

Meanwhile we are having a gathering in July with Kim Klacik as the speaker. There is a woman that I can get behind and support even if she is in Baltimore. That city needs help.
