A very interesting blog!!

Unfortunately, also is the problem of those who do not clean up and remove the droppings etc. regularly. Chicken feed left out or scattered around attracts rodents.

Isn't it amazing how all the things we did as kids are now dangerous? My grandmother had chickens and we gathered eggs. She and my mother also bought a hundred or more "peeps" to raise for frying..... and we played in the brooder house with those chicks, as well as tending them, cleaning out the brooder house, and then butchering the chickens.
Oh, and eggs were not washed immediately and refrigerated either. They were kept in a wire basket in the kitchen. It wasn't until she no longer kept chickens that we saw refrigerated eggs from the store in our homes.
