HOW DID YOU COME UP WITH YOUR USERNAME? I have seen some names here and wondered why the user chose them. Some are obvious like MrsJoe and I use shuel2002 since my pen name ends with Shuel. How about the rest of you? Now the challenge. For those of you who just use your regular name or similar, what would be a username that would truly reflect who you are? Mine is a pet name given to me as a child. Maura or Maudie, I answer to both LOl. If I were to pick a new username, I have to give that one some thought.

Actually, my original one was shy372003, because I was very shy at this social media thing, and my favorite number and the year I was joining. When Joe and I got married, I wanted to change my "s.x" from single to couple and that was not a problem..... until I noticed that all the couples were looking for swingers, so I tried to change it back. It wouldn't let me do it. I contacted SFF, and was basically told only one "s.x" change per handle and suggested I just make a new handle and profile. I decided on Mrsjoe1936 because Joe was Joe1936. Then later, I violated a term of use and got a warning, and a couple years later, I posted information about a bash that contained the cost also. That is forbidden so I was banned. After talking to the abuse department on the phone, the lady told me she could not reinstate that handle, but to make a different spelling and a new profile, so that's how how I have MrsJoe. It took me quite a while after I joined face book to get used to using real names instead of handles, and sometimes I still use the handle. BTW, some folks in the other groups to which we belonged still call me Shy because I never changed my name there, and may people still just call me Mrs. Joe instead of Pat. Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

I started out as StarGazerGal because of my love of Astrology. There was a major league flame war and I got booted. They even kept the fee that I paid for membership, When I called and asked to get reinstated. I was told that I was permanently banned and that all future handles would be banned. That experience taught me the wisdom of not engaging with trolls, bullies, and agitators. I changed my handle to StarWomyn and still haven't been booted. That was over ten years ago. Abracadabra

Interesting in how handles came about. When I first came on the site my handle was Chuckles. It was the name that popped into my head. I used to know a lady from Australia and one day she told me I should have a more dignified name so a few names were tossed about and Shartaun was born and I added 03 to it as that was the year I did it.

It must not be as hard to do now as it was when we first joined. Remember Don? He seemed to have several handles sitting by the side because as soon as he was banned, he was posting under a new one, the same as someone does it today. I could never figure how that was done so easily because doesn't each handle have to have its own email address? Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.
