TOP 5 LIST OF THINGS I WANT (OR HAVE) TO DO AFTER COVID

ET asked post a new blog so if you don't like this topic you can blame her. Just kidding of course. I have not been out of the house except to take out the garbage in about a year. Our mother is 94 and we have taken no risks. It is amazing how simple things that has been taken for granted can be missed so much. I am making a top 5 list of things I want/have to do after covid ends. I pray it is over soon. After you read my list, I would like to hear yours.

MY LIST:

1. I want to see my boyfriend who we have not let in the house due to our mom given covid. It's been close to a year since we spent time together in person. I miss him.

2. See family in person instead of on

3. I have do my medical appointments that are long overdue.

4. It would be thrilling go a shopping mall and be around people again. I never thought I would call shopping thrilling but my perspective has changed.

5. Going out for dinner sounds wonderful .

Your turn. Let's hear what you will be doing.

Hi Elaine. Truthfully, the COVID has not affected Joe and my life hardly at all. I did stop doing so much shopping in person, but I hated that anyway. Now, I order online for delivery or pickup on most stuff, with just occasional in person trips to the city. I do go to the stores in the nearby small town.
We don't go out much socially anyway, so when our once a week supper group had to stop, we didn't miss it that much because we only went about half the time anyway.
We still see our family, but they are careful to not come around if they don't feel well or have been exposed to or around anyone exposed to the virus. I guess I don't really have a list for afterwards.
Hope your mother is doing good these days.

Thanks Pat. She is holding her own. I guess it's good that covid hasn't affected you that much in terms of doing what you want to.

Hi Elaine....so nice to see you again..I checked and your last blog was posted in September 2019 so you have been gone for a while. I have only seen family once last year and been out a couple of times socially but that was several months ago. I only spend time at the grocery and drug stores. Some days I feel like a mole. But I know it will end soon I hope.
I miss not meeting people for coffee...
I miss not going out for dinner....
I miss not being able to see family......
I haven't travelled anywhere in over a year......
I run into my neighbors periodically and we have a chat at a distance and with masks on....
So Elaine I think we are all waiting to get back out there again and socialize with a human face. I spend a lot time on FB and on here and that is the extent of my socializing.

Has it really been that long? Oh my. Sorry about that. We have had to do the caregiver's work for our mother, so it has been hard. I can't wait for her to have her caregivers back and life to return to normal. I hope that isn't wishful thinking.

I can't imagine going around seeing people with masks but I am happy people are wearing protective gear as they need to take covid seriously. What we are all missing, those of us that are being more cautious like my family, are the simple things of life. We all took things like what you wrote for granted. I know I did. Great answers Shartaun.

My list Elaine,
To visit my son and grandson in Sweden. It's almost a year and a half since we met in person. I know they are so longing to come here for a visit with us.

To meet and visit all my sisters and brothers, and have a good old natter over a glass of wine.

To meet with friends for a coffee and chat , and a spot of shopping.

To be able to go to the theatre again. We had shows booked before the pandemic struck, all cancelled.

I just want to be normal again, and do the little things we all took for granted. Like

Hope your mother is doing ok , 94 what a great age.

Good blog Elaine

All of the above.....Get my teeth cleaned, Get some medical tests that are overdue, Hang out and chat with people......share meals and stories and facial expressions and body-language and humour.....I see my family....outdoors at a distance....Hug my kids and grandkids and friends....

I had a trip planned before Covid that I was really excited about, but now I would rather just stay in my community and visit with all the young parents and their children......They grow so fast.....will they even remember me by the time I get to see them again?......There have been several babies born during Covid who are already walking and I haven't even met them........Baby viewing is one of my favourite activities............

Elaine after reading everyone's comments we all seem to have one prominent thing that we are missing and that is human contact with loved ones and friends. Some days just slip by and I wonder what have accomplished. This Pandemic seems to have made me so lethargic. I am also anxiously awaiting spring and getting out more. We are going through a cold spell now and it doesn't encourage one to get out in the outdoors. Take care all of you bloggers and we will get there hopefully soon.

It is so sad that we have lost out on time with our families. The bright side is we have some wonderful times to look forward to. Think about the great reunions ahead. Thanks for your response, Sparkleflt.

Hi Elaine, nice to see you here again!
For me, personally hug some dear friends, and my nephews and niece. And I would like to go anywhere outdoors to breathe fresh air.
I'm glad your mom is okay.

Thanks ET. I will try my best. It has been a very tiring time. My mom's caregivers haven't been here in close to a year. I have some health issues too. I am hoping for better days ahead once covid is behind all of us.

I want to get on the train, head to Atlanta and see my precious grandson. I don't suspect that I will be heading to Washington D.C, for lobbying adventures anytime too soon. HOWEVER, I am involved with State and local politics and know most of them by name and all I have to do is pick up a phone and say "Hello - Todd, Barry, Jack David, Lowell, Carol, Ad Infiniutm, this is Bonijean and I like to talk to you about........................... Hello Patrick, How is your wife and her dog Teddy and......................

Seeing your grandson again is definitely something to look forward to. Sounds like you do know many that would be happy to see you in person down the line. Thanks for your comment, starwomyn.

At least there are vaccines on the market. Who expected that when they would come out, it would take a long time to get them? I know that never entered my mind. Anyhow we all have to have good thoughts to get through these rough times. Thanks ET.
