THIS IS A FIRST FOR ME - I'VE BEEN BLOCKED I have been blocked from reading Ranger's blog. I am only announcing it since if he insults me again on his Phyllis Diller post, I won't be responding due to being blocked. It is rather sad since he seems like he has 2 parts to his personality. In one post he complimented me and RosesLady and said he'd like to add us as friends. He then was very nasty when it came to a post someone put up about gay marriages. RosesLady said she was shocked at seeing such a nasty side to him. He then insulted her. After that, he did the same to me on that post, when I defended a gay couple's right to marry. I did say it sounded very racist what he wrote in his Phyllis Diller post. I gave him the chance to clarify, hoping I was mistaken. Sadly I was not. He brought up about black guys dominating basketball, implying I would feel it is a racist comment. I don't consider it being racist to say that black guys dominate basketball if that is the case. I would have no issue with him saying Jewish comedians dominated comedy if that was the case. What I objected to was him making it sound like Jews were on a mission to keep out all non Jews from the comedy scene and he said other fields later on. I can't copy and paste since I am blocked. Anyhow, that to me was a racist comment. Everyone is free to pursue their dreams and if a non Jewish comedian or Jewish comedian couldn't compete with the rest, it is because they lacked the talent needed to make it. Ranger went on to say I am not qualified to teach anything and that I go around here looking for people to fight with. I don't feel that is the case. First of all, I won't go into degrees I've earned or other credentials I have, to prove he is wrong. However, I will state that he doesn't know what he is talking about. Do I ever disagree with what is said? Absolutely. Isn't that what a blog is about? Can one respect someone they disagree with? YES. Rae is a perfect example and I hope she's ok with me saying her name here. She had one post that we didn't see eye-to-eye. She had no malicious intent and despite our differences, it didn't affect our common respect for the other. There are others here like Rentier who keeps referring to the swastika incident, where I called him out for using "nice swastika" I believe it was. Yes, he did that to stir the pot and so yes, I did have issues with him using it. Getting along does not mean staying quiet when one goes too far. I knew making that comment on Ranger's post might cause an issue but I was so disturbed by what he wrote, I couldn't hold back. Elaine Shuel |

Don't let it get to you, he blocked me and I have no idea what I did to offend him. One day I could read his blog, next day I was blocked. Don't even know if he made any nasty remarks and you know what, I really don't care. I decided to block him as well, why sit around waiting for someone to go postal, lol.

I wasn't shocked he blocked me since he said something in his blog that implied he might do so. I haven't blocked him yet but I may. I have never blocked anyone from my blogs before.Elaine Shuel

Hi Elaine: It is a strange feeling when you try never to insult anyone here, then you find out you've been blocked from even reading someone's blog. In the past I always made polite replies on Ranger's blogs, then one day just out of the blue he told me I was so incredibly stupid. Now Elaine I'm not one to brag about my high I.Q. (lol) so I didn't reply to the insult and after that I just didn't open his blogs again, but the other day he made a nice comment to me on someone else's blog. I have found that most people on the internet are very sensitive, and so am I, so I try to be as considerate as humanly possible as I hate fights.

Hi Elaine, during these years of being here, still I am sensitive. I admit I get offended easily. I tried my best to ignored them but for those who insulted me continually I blocked them all. There are few who blocked me too but that's fine. I am not interested to read their posts especially if they are like the posts of blessed, they are nonsense. I am sorry for that. There was that time that all new handles that visited my blog I did blocked many. I thought just a new handle of people who always bullied us. I will unblocked you! "The only way to have a friend is to be one."

Just passing something that works with the misogynistic rooster my son drug home. After he tried to attack me once I go into the back lot armed with a very large shovel. After a bit of demonstrating what it does he respects me enough to stay out of my way and let me go about my business. Lesson in all of this? Even the chicken can learn to coexist. Doesn't say a lot for us humans does it? Spiritwoman ^i^

I loved and appreciated your response, Liszt.  Usually I read a response and then comment but I decided to see what people wrote first. When I read yours, I was thrilled that someone intelligently expressed a valid viewpoint on what really happened regarding Jews and comedy. I agree it was anti semiitic not racist remark that Ranger made. I hope you post this on Ranger's blog since I can't be the one to do so. Thanks again. Elaine Shuel

After a bit of demonstrating what it does he respects me enough to stay out of my way and let me go about my business. Lesson in all of this? Even the chicken can learn to coexist. Doesn't say a lot for us humans does it?  However there are prejudiced people who can't tolerate anything that isn't part of what they perceive to be normal. They have a hard time coexisting with anyone that doesn't fit in with their view of acceptable behavior. Thanks Roxy. You are correct that some people have used this blog to insult others and I am sorry about that. I won't be replying to those comments since that isn't what I intended. I won't deny that those who said things about Ranger, I did appreciate and respond to. That is because to me, it was a sign of their support and is in line with the post. Thanks for your comment.
