SORRY MAISIE, NOT EVERYONE FEELS THE WAY YOU DO

In Maisie's blog, she wrote:

"Those in here who call for peace, calm, and " let's all get along" remind me of that dowager Aunt, who could not understand why we felt the need to protest, or the old guy across the street who would scream "You get off my lawn". They were the sort who were willing to let the world pass them by, as long as they were not disturbed."

I put up a blog about voting on posts and I said about what I read in her post. It turns out that not everyone, myself included, wants to have fighting. Wanting to get along is not a sign of weakness or wanting the world to pass them by. It is that we come here for a good time and to hear from our friends. Like you Maisie, I am passionate about my beliefs, and I think that's great. I admire that in you. Do not take this as a negative thing. I respect your right to express your opinions. The only issue I have is, you are making it that those who don't want to have fights are in some way, lesser people. That isn't the case. I think most of us choose our fights and don't look to have any, when they could be avoided.

If we could only agree to disagree and not have to put a value on one oponion over another.

2 way to looking for not wanting to see fighting. I tend to take the opposite view, that those who seek peace are more mature and have outgrown the need for fighting and discord.

I often envy those who have lives that are so boring or dull that they look for unpleasantness for fun. I compare it to my own. In the past 2 days I have had to deal with things that made their way to Children's Protective Services, Jail and the court system, police in 2 separate jurisdictions and Mental Health Crisis services. Maybe I should invite anyone who enjoys the conflict to join me.

But would I change things? I don't think so. I want my energy expenditure to count for something that really matters.

I too have often said let's agree to disagree. Some people can't seem to accept that concept. Thanks puzzles.

Your energy, as with everyone else's, is better spent on productive things than fighting. Yes, fights do happen on this blog but nobody should actually want to have fights. To me, that makes no sense. Good for you, Spirit, only using your time wisely. Thank you.

Sorry Maisie but I wasn't back on this site 2 weeks ago. I saw your blog post for the first time today. I am glad if someone that stirs things up isn't around, but given your stance, I would think you would be disappointed. Thanks for your comment.

I would like it if we could all just write blogs again about our lives and our feelings. The snide remarks and insults have to go. It would also be nice if we could give our opinions to blogs without certain individuals nitpicking through what we wrote and turning it into a debate or a fight..

Some folks enjoy the 'circus' atmosphere created by certain blogs.

I think it's rather like a modern version of the Roman coliseum, the French guillotine, witch burnings, and public hangings.

Words can 'slice & dice' just as cruelly...... but fortunately not fatally.

Exactly what I meant, Pat. Who WANTS to have fighting? I don't get why Maisie thinks we all want it or that if we don't, we are very passive people. When provoked, we do stand up for ourselves but that isn't the same thing as wanting a fight. Thanks for your comment.

Sorry bijou, but that could only happen in a perfect world. It isn't likely to happen here. Thanks for your comment.

You're right, Maisie. I got very involved with other things and wasn't active here. I will try to do better.

I definitely do agree that blogs that are positive tend to do worse than those that are negative. You see that as good thing, showing we have passion. I think it's rather sad and reminds me of a crowd forming when there is an accident.

Nice to meet you, sweethang. I think these blogs are to share things with each other and have a good time. I am not looking to have voting. That takes away the fun, at least the way I see it. Thanks for your comment.

Thanks akamatt. It wasn't really posted to help or hurt. It was just to express my opinion that not everyone wants to fight. I am very assertive and far from a shrinking violet but I don't want to see arguments here.

This post was to show that not everyone wants a fight, but sadly, one has started. I hope that it doesn't continue. Fossil, attacking someone on my post, isn't what I want so please let's just put the matter to rest. Thank you.
