TERRIBLE THING I READ ON THE INTERNET TODAY

This is 2015, and things supposedly have come a long way since the time Rosa Parks in 1955 was ordered to give up her seat in a bus for a white person, and rightly refused. What I read today was disgusting:

Employees at several Texan businesses have found stickers saying "exclusively for white people" placed on their windows, sparking an investigation into their origin and condemnation from the mayor.

Austin Mayor Steve Adler said the stickers discovered Wednesday morning were "an appalling and offensive display of ignorance in our city."

The stickers also say "Maximum of 5 colored customers / colored BOH staff accepted," apparently referring to the "back of house" operations at a restaurant. They featured a city of Austin logo and claimed to be "sponsored by the City of Austin Contemporary Partition and Restoration Program," though no such program exists.

I just felt it was something that needed to be posted. Sorry for it being post#2 today from me.

Have a great weekend!!!

How mean is that. It seems to me that this separation thing is going from bad to worse. They are not going to give it up. I recall on my first visit to Mississippi when I was walking around the small college town where my cousin was the college president. I came across this church that was kind of stark on the outside and seemed to be different from the rest of the churches in that town. I asked the lady who worked for my cousin in their house about it. She said oh that church is only for blacks. It so happened she was black and no doubt attended that church. Coming from Canada this was something unheard of or at least where I live. I realized that things are much different in the south and it was a cultural education for me.

I have no idea who did it but it was a disgusting thing to do. Thanks for your comment, LakeWalker. I hope they find out who's behind it.

Yes it definitely needs to be addressed, Dan. Those responsible for such ugliness need to be punished.

As far as blogging, thank you. I am trying to please everyone but as they say, you can't please all the people all of the time.

It's too bad that people can't come together, instead of finding reasons to be separate. Thanks for your comment. Shartaun03.

Wow, the past is back now: ya know the saying, return of the repressed...Before WWI weren't they saying: jews this and that? same for the stores and such...racism, homophobia etc...what else on the menu of hatred? Do you have the source?

No, I just copied and pasted it, Artmany. However, if you google it, it shouldn't be hard to find. Yes, it was shocking to read the article. Thanks for your comment.

Really sickening and so sad that people can be so cruel.

My theory on this is someone is trying to start trouble here in Texas, maybe even cause riots like in Ferguson, Mo. Before everyone starts believing we have a bunch of racists in Texas, this needs some thorough investigation. I'm not saying we are all a bunch of angels here, but this smells a little fishy to me, and I don't like it!

India and Pakistan are at the top of pretty well ALL lists of most racist countries in the world.

Because we live in N. America, we of course focus on the racism closest to us.

What a mess!!!

I hope it's not a new trend, Graphics45. I hope it's an isolated incident. Those responsible, need to be punished to the full extent of the law. Thanks for your comment.

You 're right, Nileyears. They need to find out who did this. I was shocked that it happened in Texas. I appreciate your response.

It's important to keep in step with current standards in acceptable prejudice.

The time when it was deemed OK to disrespect Jews, Blacks, and gays is long past.

Arabs, Germans, and the French, of course, are fair game.

Oh, and Catholic priests.
