Photo Monday - My 2014 European Trip - Installment #4

I was going to post more of my vacation pictures, so I guess Photo Monday is as good a day as any.

Picture 1: Dubrovnik, Croatia, "The Pearl of the Adriatic".

Pic 2: Overlooking the Ponte Vecchio in Florence, Italy. It has jewellery shops all along the street, situated on a bridge. Women love it, men not so much. lol

Pic 3: Palace of Verseilles in France.

Pic 4: The Louvre in Paris.

Pic 5: A picture in the Palace of Versailles.

Pic 6: Charlie Chaplin wax figure at Madame Tussads in London, England.

Great sequence of pictures, I like the one of Chaplin, I've also been to Madame Tussauds to see him. But it was a long, long time ago, nice to see him again.

Alfie...

Elaine, you can do that.

These are great photographs. The picture of Florence is great and of course even the others. I had been to that place in Florence too. Very interesting place.

I lived in Milan, Italy for more than 35 years until I came to the U.S 5 years ago. My husband and I go for vacation yearly to visit my family there.

Thanks for sharing your photographs to us.

Thanks Alfie. I'm going to be putting up more pics from Madame Tussauds. We have one in Niagara Falls but we didn't enjoy it. The one in London was wonderful. It was so much fun.

That's quite a compliment, Bill. Thanks so much.

We wanted to have great memories of our trip. Between the pictures, videos and photobook, we have enough items to review on anything we forget.

Thanks very much, Liszt. You're absolutely right about not getting enough of each of the cities I visited, in one trip. We were away for 25 days and packed in what we could. I'd love to see Vienna. I've never been there.

Elaine there is a wax museum in Victoria, BC that is pretty good. But it closed in 2010 and became The Robert Bateman Centre. They had some excellent stuff in there. By the way your pictures are excellent. You take great photography.

Thank you. I was in Victoria, BC a lifetime ago, Shartaun03. I saw Butchart Gardens and I believe it was Madame Tussauds there too. I had a great time. Is that the museum that closed down?

Thanks for coming to my blog, Lee. You liking my pictures is quite a compliment, given how lovely your pictures are on your blog.

Croatia was a surprise to us. It happened to be a stop on our Mediterranean cruise but we had a great time. Be sure to check out Cavtat which was very picturesque and Dubrovnik. We liked both.

Elaine I believe that would be one and the same. Butchart Gardens are lovely. It has been a number of years since I last visited them.

Elaine hi,
Thanks for these great pics Elaine, they remind me of my several trips to France, Italy and UK as well, where I've visited lots of these places. Nice blog and thank you for it. Enjoy your day Elaine.

I remember how lovely Butchart Gardens was. You should visit there again.

That's too bad about Madame Tussauds closing in Victoria, but truly the London one surpasses all the Madame Tussauds I've seen elsewhere. No comparison. I hope one day you get to see it in London.

Thanks so much for writing here, Shartaun03.

Hi Elaine: It must be so wonderful to see all those famous places in person. I was surprised to see that Croatia is so beautiful. I love wax museums and would love to see that Charlie Chaplin figure. I have all his films and even though I'm not the type of person who laughs a lot, every time I watch one of his movies I can't stop laughing.

It was fantastic Francesca!! It was my first trip in 19 years and I think it made up for lost time. The wax museum was great. I will be showing more pics from it and there was even an unexpected ride. We had a great day, morning at Madame Tussauds, afternoon tea at the Langham London where the tradition originated and shopping at Harrod's afterwards. Who could ask for anything more?

I was surprised about Croatia too. It was not one of the countries I ever intended on seeing in my lifetime.

Thanks so much for checking out my pictures.
