My 2014 European Vacation - installment #3

You didn't think you'd get away without seeing another Venice picture, did you? It was my favorite city and I loved Italy. For that matter, Mykonos was beautiful, Paris has fantastic museums and food and I can go on and on. If you've never taken a Mediterranean cruise, you're missing out.

Picture 1: I wanted you to see that we were serenaded. There was a singer and accordion player with 5 gondolas going on the same tour.

Picture 2: The copy of Michelangelo's David, Florence, Italy.

Picture 3: In Rome, italy, I thought this was cute.

Picture 4: I made a Photobook of our trip, at my sister's request. It wasn't easy to do because the best pics were still shots from my video camera. The resolution made it impossible to do full page spreads. This is a page from our photobook. It was from Hampton Court Palace in England, the outskirts of London. I put together this page from a picture of Henry VIII, Anne Boleyn, Katherine of Aragon and the plaque of all of his wives.

Picture 5: Cavtat in Croatia. It was beautiful there. We had a nice time.

Picture 6: The town of Amalfi, Italy.

Thanks Francesca. The Amalfi Coast tour we took was very scenic and the town of Amalfi was very nice. I was surprised that I enjoyed Hampton Court Palace. I did find it fascinating hearing about Henry VIII and his ill treatment of Kathryn of Aregon, all because she couldn't bear a son that survived. They had a son but he died a short time after. Oh well, at least he didn't behead her the way he did some of his other wives.

Beautiful pictures Elaine. We spent a week there last Spring What a beautiful place to visit, I love the Old Town it's so unique. Cavtat what a magic little spot that is. We hope to go back to Rome next year. There is so much to see and do that one visit is not enough. It's unbelievable how much of the ruins of ancient Rome is still standing. Florence is so beautiful and interesting also. I am following a great TV series on the life of Henry VIII. What a man lol.

Thank you, Lyn. I wish the sun was shining brightly on those days, but at least we had little rain during our trip.

Thanks Maura. I'm glad you got a chance to see those places in person. It's a great experience that I wish for everyone.

Henry VIII was quite a man, that's for sure. When he left Kathryn of Aregon for Anne Boleyn, it turns out that Kathryn was the lucky one.

Thanks Nileyears. I have an old HD video camera. I took videos and then using their software, captured still shots. We also took a digital camera with but most shots were from the video camera. My sister hates taking pics and she held the digital camera. lol

Hi Pharmacist2. Nice to see you on my blog. I went to Paris, Barcelona, a Mediterranean Cruise (including several cities in Italy), and London. The trip was done with my sister not a travel group. It was wonderful!!!

Thanks so much for saying such a nice thing. I appreciate it, Glumo.

Italy is gorgeous. You definitely should go there. May is the best time for Venice usually. That's when we went. Later I hear the water has a bad odor. It really depends on how hot it is.

I came back from my trip wanting to plan another one. Hopefully one day, after I save up a ton of money (lol) and courage to take a plane again, I'll be able to go.

I did find that staying away from the big cities is best, at least for what I enjoy. Mykonos is nicer than Athens and there is no comparison between Venice and Rome.
