That's certainly your choice, Rentier1. I really hope one good thing comes of this. I hope that before you write something that could be so hurtful, you'll think twice. That may be wishful thinking on my part but I'd really like to believe you didn't purposely try to offend I wasn't aware of the history of the swastika so there is a chance that you didn't say it in the negative way it was taken.
The history of the swastika has nothing to do with it.

My sense of humour can be dark at times.

I certainly won't think twice about something like this.

It simply astounds me that anyone could feel offended by it.

But I guess just about everything offends someone.

I heard from a gay acquaintance that some LGBT people find Men and Women bathrooms signs offensive, so it's impossible not to hurt someone's feelings no matter how innocuous the comment.

While one can't be expected to know exactly what offends someone else, calling a swastika nice is an obvious offensive remark to many. I get the feeling you are intelligent so it's unlikely you didn't realize that.

Obviously I'm not intelligent enough.

You are clearly smarter than most people here, so it surprises me that you wouldh't see the irony in that remark.

I'm 71.

I never put my real birth date on the net for security reasons,

I lived under Nazi domination for 15 months.

It's not the length of time that is important but how much trauma one suffered.

So I feel I have the right to play the Nazi victim card whenever it suits me.

Thanks for the compliment but I respect the intelligence of the majority of the posters on this site.

I understand that you try to provoke people to get a reaction. Some of your comments amuse me, like the Hogan's Heroes choice of TV shows. Nice swastikas bothered me, regardless that I knew your motives in writing those words.

I do try to provoke at times.

But this was not such an attempt.

I guess you succeeded without really trying then.

Agree that the swastika is a religious symbol in Hinduism and Buddhism.
It depends on how it is drawn on whether it relates to the sacred symbol or the Nazi one.

Thanks for that comment, whiterose06. In this situation, it was said in words, and "nice swastika" bothered me due to its Nazi connection.
