I confess - I do love reality shows

It all began after watching Big Brother on its first season. Dr. Will's girlfriend used a guy's toothbrush on the toilet and then put it back where she found it. Obviously she didn't tell the guy she did that. It was for revenge. Who would ever think of doing such a thing? I was hooked.

I watch the Bachelor and all its forms, whether it's the Bachelorette, Bachelor Pad, Bachelor in Paradise (or whatever it was called). I watched them all. Celebrity Apprentice is another favorite. I still can't get over Joan Rivers calling Annie Dukes, Hitler. I would have fired Joan for doing that.

I watch reality food competitions like MasterChef and Top Chef and Hell's Kitchen. I'm sure I'm forgetting others I watch. I'm not even into cooking but still I love watching them all.

I'm Canadian so I watch both the US and Canadian versions of The Amazing Race, Big Brother and yes, the Bachelor. Thank heavens for PVRs.

Do you watch any reality shows? If I'm the only one here that watches them, I'll hang my head in disgrace and of course, hide this blog post. lol

I have to confess that I'm not really into reality shows. But I do really enjoy watching the true crime shows like Dateline and 48 Hours. I also enjoy Antiques Roadshow, which is on GPB tonight.

Alfie...

It only takes a drop of ink to make a million people think. There are many stories.

Celebrity Apprentice is on right now, the finale. I'm recording it. Is shark tank the one with inventors showing their products?

I enjoy the odd Dateline or 48 hours if it's about something that piques my interest. Enjoy the Antiques Roadshow tonight, Alfie. I actually never watched that.

By the way, I think Geraldo is going to win. I like Leeza but her team is letting her down.

I've watched some recent seasons of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Brandi is someone that I enjoy watching but I'd be afraid to be her "friend".

I think Donald Trump decides who will win before the show begins.

I saw Shark Tank once. There was an offer made to 2 partners and they took too long. The offer was rescinded and they ended up with nothing. I found that quite unusual. Interesting show.

I have never seen Mad Men but I've certainly heard of it. I enjoyed Monk but only saw it once or twice. Reality TV isn't for everyone.

You know the expression "truth is strange than fiction"? It really is. They can't make up some of the things that have happened on some episodes. There is no doubt that editing could alter some of the "reality" of the final product the audience views.

Hi Elaine: Million Dollar Listing is about four real estate agents selling multi-million dollar houses in Los Angeles and three more agents in New York City. They follow the agents around so we get to see how these big deals are done, see inside these expensive homes, who's buying them etc.

Oh yes, I forgot about The Voice. I watch that too. The new season is starting next Monday. I like Adam and Blake, when they have their little spats They're cute. I used to watch American Idol but now not as much. I don't think a girl will ever win. At least they haven't let a girl win in many years.

I've never heard of Strictly Come Dancing. I guess we don't get that in Canada. I watch Dancing with the Stars some seasons. It depends on the contestants. The X Factor I watch sometimes. You obviously like dancing shows. They can be quite entertaining.

Have a wonderful day, Maudie1 and thanks for replyng on my blog. It's the first time I've seen you here, I believe.

I didn't know they have Big Brother and the Bachelor in German. Are they the USA version translated into German or contestants from Germany?

I take things with a grain of salt. I realize that editing can change the final result but I still like watching some of the reality shows. That's not to say that I don't like watching Modern Family, Mike & Molly and yes, reruns of some Golden Girls or Seinfeld.

Thanks Boogie. I don't know those shows like Top Gear but I'm not really into cars. I'm glad that you get that it is nice to be able to relax and unwind by watching some reality TV.

Don't get me started on soaps. It started with a friend getting me hooked on All My Children in the 70s and I watch Y&R, B&B and lately went back to watching General Hospital.

Wow I thought I was the biggest reality show fan around. The Voice. America has talent and American Idol I watch regularly. I also watched the UK version of the X-Factor and I really enjoyed it. I really think it depends on who is judging. I am a huge fan of the cooking shows and like MsEd I get inspired by some of the stuff they make on these shows. The Chew is one of my favorite day time shows. I am a huge fan of Michael Symon. I watch all the Bachelor shows and I must say I prefer the American version. I guess it is all about the host Chris Harrison. He makes that show. Shuel who do you think Chris Soules will pick? I think Whitney and Becca are the front runners.

Shartaun03, yes I watch too much reality TV but I'm hooked. I don't watch any daytime ones so I've never seen The Chew.

I'm a little shocked that you said Chris Harrison makes the show. I enjoyed the Canadian version as much as the US one and he's not in it. I think it will be between Kaitlyn (a Canadian so I'm biased) and Whitney. I don't think he'll want to marry Becca. If he's a standup guy, he won't have sex in the fantasy suite with a virgin, while he has it with others. Her family indicated she's not a touchy feely person and he might not want someone who isn't, for a wife.

I think he might pick Kaitlyn. She's a fun person and spontaneous. I think he likes that about her. I do like Whitney too but I won't be dating her. lol

You were right, Shartaun03, but to me, whoever ends up with Chris is a loser not a winner. When I say that I mean, I don't respect Chris in the least. When he told Kaitlyn that he was falling in love with her, I thought that he made up his mind. I noticed he didn't say those words back to Whitney when she said it to him. He did say it on camera though. When he later said it to Becca, the verdict was in. This guy deserves to be despised not admired. I got so upset by it that I just put up another blog post.

I am totally disgusted that Chris said he was falling in love with 2 (at least) of the 3 women. A decent man wouldn't say those words, when he knew someone would be eliminated right afterwards. A decent man wouldn't say those words until he knew who he loved.
