Christmas Celebration in Dhaka.

The other day two of my SFF friends asked me while chatting in lobby about how Christmas is celebrated in this country of mine! I told them that we celebrate Christmas just like they do in their own countries. And then I thought to post, here on my blog page, some of the pictures taken during celebrating Christmas on Monday last in Dhaka, the city where I live now! The Christian community of the country had celebrated Christmas Day on Monday, December 25, 2017 as elsewhere across the world, commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ. were delighted to join a Christmas fair held in the city on the day this year(see the photos).

Archer, the Christian population is sizable here in this country. I have many boyhood friends who are Christians! I grew up in an area where Christians were my immediate neighbors just like Hindus! Thanks for liking the photos.

Thank you so much for your comment left on this page of mine! The festival was celebrated peacefully as was expected by us. Even the nature was kind to the Christian Community. The weather was cool and the rain did not fall. The second picture shows the President of Bangladesh cutting a cake with members of the Christian community at Bangabhaban in the city on Monday, marking Christmas. Mrs,Joe, this country is really a secular one where people practicing different faiths live side by side since ages! Wishing you and Mr. Joe a happy and peaceful New Year! Live long!

A large number of vibrant Christian communities could be found living across the entire country peacefully side by side with people practicing other faiths. Wishing you a happy and joyous 2018.
