Not a fake news!

It's very unwise to let equins roam the streets, they could cause terrible accidents or could roam on railroad tracks. Hundreds of reindeer in Norway have been killed by trains these last few weeks. Donkeys should be housed in fields or stables away from harm.

Sure Archer, I agree with you. But not in a Government or private lock up!

Somewhat confused. Are these wild donkeys? Or do they belong to the men who got them out of jail? If they belong to those men, then they definitely need to keep them corralled for their own safety and the safety of people who might be harmed in accidents they could cause. But I find it surprising that they had been put in "jail" in the first place. Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

These are not wild donkeys! They belong to the men who got them out of the jail. The donkeys were detained by the jail authorities for damaging plants and reportedly causing injury to children of the prison staff. The donkeys had to serve time for four days in the jail without getting a fair trail in a court of law! The jail authorities had no right to put the donkeys in the jail. They should have been sent to local stockade in stead! Hope you are no longer confused, Mrs Joe!

For example...... a neighbor's goat got out of its pasture and jumped into the road causing an accident. The neighbor's insurance company had to pay for the damages to the vehicle that hit the goat. No freedom... but a certain measure of protection from the humans who can be reckless at times...lol

The donkeys should not have been punished, but the owners should have been held accountable..... either fined or jailed themselves. In our country, owners are responsible for the actions of their animals. For example...... a neighbor's goat got out of its pasture and jumped into the road causing an accident. The neighbor's insurance company had to pay for the damages to the vehicle that hit the goat.

Deb, neither could I imagine putting donkeys in jail, until I read the story in the newspaper! In rural India, domesticated animals are allowed to roam freely by their owners for obvious reason! I have seen cows roaming on the roads of busy Indian metropolises too. In this case, the offending donkeys trespassed to properties owned by the concerned Jail Authorities!
