I've always thought the answer to illegal immigration to the US was quite simple.

Start jailing the people who employ the illegals.

As soon as the jobs dry up, the illegals will go home.

It's an odd situation where an American can be jailed for transporting an illegal, even in an emergency to a hospital, but nothing happens if they give them work.

But that's not likely to happens since so much of the US economy depends on their labour.

Nothing to add, Fossil, because I agree with you. Just saying, "Hi."

Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

when ideas expressed express the wrong idea, it rather baffling and very hard to put your finger on the truer meaning.

First, this issue is not about the legality of immigration law.

It's about LAW ENFORCEMENT and State and local rights to govern their own law enforcement.

Certainly when a law is challenged by states, then enforcement of that law becomes an issue.
But that is not the case here, the only issue is the enforcement of the law. The states are not denying the right of the Federal government to enforce the law. but standing up for their rights to not be forced, to be the ones enforcing it.

What's truly ironic about this... is the Right actually stands for less federal government interference and more States rights. Yet on this issue they want to expand the Federal government authority. Currently law enforcement is not centralized in the states, both state police and local municipalities have law enforcement that perform separate kinds of duties, at the authority given them by the state and the locality.

Does the Right stand for a Centralized law enforcement run by the Federal government? For all law enforcement.. Federal, State and local?

Is that what you want? If it is..... you are just hypocrites.

I don't even want to discuss the right or wrong of it, just what it means. Looking at the "big picture" of what's happening. This position of federal authority is more like what a liberal thinks than a conservative. Then we get to the nitty gritty of it, and how it's not hypocritical... because, in truth, it's more like what a fascist thinks than a Liberal.

Gosh, Rentier, it seems as if much thought has gone into your response (lol)... we certainly could use some of that brainstorm for all the illegal aliens (now there's an oxymoron for you) we have coming into various ports of Canada. Perhaps you can lend some of that intelligence to Trudeau, you think?

Neither have I, as a matter of fact.
But I understand it is possible.

I was watching some video of commie-symp libtards who patrol the Mexico-US border handing out water and supplies to illegals entering into the US.

If they come across someone in distress they call the border patrol, and never transport them in their own vehicles because they could be charged.

Also read a book by an American who wanted to investigate the lives of migrant workers.

He drove with them to Florida for the citrus crop picking.

He would not take the wheel, ever, because if they were stopped he could be charged with transporting aliens and do time.

An interesting thing about that trip was that the Mexicans couldn't read road maps.
They just knew how to get where they were headed from previous trips.
