Take it with you?

About a week ago, I was directed to an older cat laying on lawn, it was very weak and could barely lift it's head or meow. No visible sign of injury and I just knew age had caught up to the poor boy. I called Animal Control and they would be there in 15 or 20 min. I stayed him and held his paw until Animal Control arrived and whisked him off to the Animal Emergency Clinic.

Three days later, a lady called the detachment and wanted to meet with me. When she arrived we talked about her cat, his name was Archie, he was an orange tomcat 12yr of age and had gotten out of the house three weeks ago and was lost, he had medical problems and required a special diet. The family had looked high and low for him every day with no luck. Although Archie had to be euthanised she was glad I found him and she was able to have closure.

I told her I had three dogs that had passed on, were cremated and when I pass on they will be at my side in our final resting place. She then told me that she planed the same thing with her cats.
After many tears she gave me a hug and a Thank You card and left.

Then I thought, how many people have the same idea we have. Are you going to have anything placed by your side when you pass on? A ring, photo, memento or something else? Inquiring minds would like to know. How about the person who was buried in his auto?

My ashes will be scattered in the high sierra along with those of my husband and our favorite dog.
