A Paradise Called Brazil! I have seen so many mistakes about Brazil in my travels outside the country and, at web chat, so I want to say some things. Excuse me,please, by anticipation, my English, it is not my native language, oh, by the way, here in Brazil WE DONT TALK SPANISH, WE TALK PORTUGUESE!!!! Brazil is a continental country, like you know, and have one of most beautiful coasts in the world, and not me, saying that, but those ones who had a chance to knew here, and others countries (by the way ,some of them are moving to here ,when retired). Tropical clime, paradisiacal beaches, very beautiful women, but guess what? I will whisper a secret: the people here are the best what we have. If you can't challenge with happy, laughs, friendship and love in all levels, CAREFULL!! Don't come here, no way! So dangerous! Yes, Brazilians are so friendly , so easy to make friends, in fact, they treat a tourist or stranger, from outside the country or same from another state here, like if they was being their old friends! It is the way of life here. (Confess: It is not so good for psychoanalyst, like me!!!!). I think, no, I really believe, that it is the biggest problem of humanity these days, less love, few friends, less brothers and sisters, less family, less caress and less HUGS and KISSES. Could you remember how long aren't you hugged? We do it all time, with our friends, real ones, family and relatives, but unfortunately, it is changing too, these days. People don't have time or mood for it . Off course, that we have many problems too, some ones makes me really sad, like: corruption , injustice , growing violence- but most of the time, the worth, are in metropolis or big cities, like S?o Paulo and Rio deJaneiro- too many poor people, bad public health assistance, no jobs ,less education and culture etc.,but exactly like in every country on earth, in minor or major scale. What really upset me? The lies on the news around the world, or maybe not lies, better say, but a single point of view, which is not fair. All of it, give a wrong idea about Brazil; don't know why, maybe convenient blindness. In my firsts travels to US and Europe, , many people look at me and said: "Oh! You don't looks like Brazilian! Some ones very disappointed, because they expected to see a "mulata"(dark skin). The majority, just know about Brazil: carnival, samba, Rio de Janeiro and mulatas. Ingenuous thoughts! We are descendents from the entire world, and it creates a very beautiful mixed race, since beauty until the way of life, sometimes good, sometimes bad, but, here in south Brazil, we are descendents from Europeans. Those facts make us a very tolerant people with differences, we neither calls us "white" or "black" ,for example, we just call us good person or not. Our neighbors are descendents of Japanese, Lebanese, Arabian, German, polish, Italian, African, Spanish...sons and grandsons or grand grandsons from immigrants. The Brazilian foods, is something very typical and different of other countries, but guess what? We have day by day at kitchens table, food from all around the world. Yes , we are blessed, and with our high self-esteem we say: GOD IS BRAZILIAN ( and someone said to me in this site "and GODDESS too!"- laugths. Because we almost don't have natural disasters: hurricane, Vulcan, desert, earthquake, snow ...see? GOD'S PARADISE!!! Brazil is a great country, with great heart and people, who are extremely brave, with many challenges day by day. Guess what? The most Brazilians are more happy with few things, than many rich people I have seen .They know that coffin, has no drawer! For sure, they can share with a neighbor, in very poor regions, a plate of bean and rice, same if it is all they have, and still laugh during the meal, and after, they will play a song, dance and sing, a "samba" or "pagode", drinking their beer or "caipirinha", and really have fun, and still make love with their partner at the end of the day. With this entire international financial market crisis, I have seen too many people desperate, associating all the pleasures, happy and power of life, with their money or fault of it. Take a distance, breathy deeply and try to see that God (or anyway that you believe), give us a perfect world, with many pleasures for free, so, take it and be happy!!! Life is short. What matters at the end? How we grow like human been. If you have a chance, please , for your pleasure, make a virtual journey in these places of Brazil- and , no, I don't have any job at government or tourism, here- just a personal commitment with truth and human happiness. sounds like a beautful place...I am from Minnesota..and we get SNOW...we prefer to think its Gods way of dressing up the world in a white wedding gown..soooooooooo pretty......thank you for the nice blog..good luck over there
