Linda. those walnuts you mention are most likely Black Walnuts. I had several trees in my first property here and they were a problem when it came time to mow grass. Black Walnuts have a green soft outer skin and they do turn black and disintergrate over time- -Black Walnuts are the most difficult to open. The inner "nut" defies just about everything except a lead mallet or bench vise to crack. Squirrels eat them and somehow they have the secret to cracking the shell. Sounds like the ideal place to be- -in the woods with natures animals, no noisy neighbors -just peace and quiet. Wish I could join you as I like living in the woods away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Good luck on acquiring the property. MrCo aka Bob

Sounds great lady, but...I would miss the hustle and bustle of the city lights... and after growing up in Kentucky, I really like concrete......a lot... Have a great time and I hope your dream comes true for you.. Best to you Dan
