Lady ~~ How sad that personal tragedy(s) would catalyst // prompt establishing foundations. The positive must be when those athletes (or non-athletes) make their friends aware of the need to assist, the friends are ready, willing and able. The positive is there. Sometimes it's just hard to find.

Exactly what Ackman said only double!! PS Did your Dad ever talk about seeing Al Kaline playing?? and hey was Sparky a great manager for you guys or what? Please tell more baseball stories, I love em!! Ouched...I'm pained...I remember Al Kaline playing. He was part of the '68 Tigers. Willie Horton is my all time favorite. I do have a Willie Horton story that I'll share one of these days. Sparky worked wonders for the Tigers but my dad didn't care for him. Dad calls Leyland "Sparky Leyland". It's not a compliment! I have a jillion baseball stories. What would you like to hear first? 'Bout my dad playing on a team with the neighborhood kids -- dirt poor -- against the rich suburban kids? Perhaps his baseball playing days while in the Air Force? Or 'bout when my youngest daughter was a tween and in love with Mickey Tettleton? We traveled all over the place to see him -- either playing or at autograph sessions. Or when my #3 daughter dated Julian Tavares?? Maybe my grandson's love for baseball? Pick a topic!!! The positive is there. Sometimes it's just hard to find.

Blue ~~ Those were the good 'ole days. I loved listening to George & Ernie do the broadcasting. It is my opinion that they were squeezed out years ago for the "younger crowd". Pa-leeze! They were the voices of baseball. George died not too long ago and now, yes, Ernie has inoperable cancer. He will be at the Tiger game on Thursday to address his many fans. It will be an emotional day in Detroit. I didn't know Ernie served with the Marines. Thanks for that information. And for all you true Tiger fans ~~ "...a man from St. Clair Shores just caught that foul ball in the 4th row behind third base". The positive is there. Sometimes it's just hard to find.

AneMac ~~ De Nada! I'm glad you enjoyed the story. Come to Detroit and I'll teach ya everything ya need to know 'bout baseball. The offer is always open! The positive is there. Sometimes it's just hard to find.

Maggie ~~ Thanks! The Inges are awesome, aren't they?! I've a jillion baseball stories that over time I'll be happy to blog about/tell. Baseball, music and jet fuel run though my blood! LOL Fair-weather fan??? We gotta pump some baseball fever into that gorgeous frame of yours! The positive is there. Sometimes it's just hard to find.

Hi ya Red Ok what did you think about the Last 30 game winner in one season, (I think ) in baseball, a southpaw, Denny Mcclain from your team? I think his life went south too, and that's a shame..30 game winner, that's unheard of and yet no one talks about it much... I too grew up playing base ball in the streets,or in a concrete school yard, no glove or bat of my own but it didn't matter, where there was kids playing I joined in. I could whack it pretty far and was always ask to play..I loved it soo much, a great diversion from all the crap going on.. I also spend 4 years of coaching my son in little league, we won a couple trophies but the ones the kids gave me that just said " "Greatest Coach" was the best ever, I still have it today.. Yep base ball, hot damm !!!!!Bring it on, I can get into any major league game on TV..well almost any game..The RedSox Yanks and Rangers are killing my team.. The Angels..bummer.. Living in Northern KY, I was a Cincy fan for years and years..met Johnny Bench, Pete Rose and Morgan and others..Met Duke Snyder ( the Reds killer for years) and other old time major leaguers at a function in LA several years ago..great fun.. Thanks Your turn my lady
