Dwelling in Our Hearts

Bible in one year:
1 Kings 10-11

Luke 21: 20–38
I pray for that. . . He can strengthen them with power through his Spirit in his inner being, so that Christ dwells in their hearts by faith.

Ephesians 3: -

Today's writing and intuition:

Ephesians 3: -21
Sometimes 's words can propel us a deeper understanding of God's truth. One night when my was little, I told her about one of the great mysteries of the Christian faith: that God, through his and Spirit, dwells in his . As I put her into her bed, I told her that Jesus was with her and in her. "Is she in my tummy?" she asked. "Well, you haven't swallowed it," I replied. "But He is there with you."

My 's literal translation of Jesus "in her stomach" made stop and consider how when I asked Jesus to be my Savior, she came and took residence in .

The apostle Paul referred this mystery when he prayed for the Holy Spirit strengthen the believers in Ephesus so that Christ would "dwell in [their his] hearts by faith" (Ephesians 3. With Jesus living inside, they were able understand how deeply he loved them. Driven by this love, they would mature in their faith and love others with humility and gentleness as they spoke the truth in love (4: 2, 25).

Jesus dwelling within his followers means that his love never leaves those who have welcomed him into their lives. His love that surpasses knowledge (3:19) roots us in Him, helping us to understand how deeply He loves us.

Words written for may say it best: "Yes, Jesus loves me!"

Reflect and pray
How does Jesus, dwelling within you, give you great comfort? How can you get closer to God knowing that his power gives you strength?

God you're not far but you're close to me May I delight in Your love and share it with others.

It is a great mystery, and cannot be fully explained, but it can be felt.
We often put the spiritual mysteries into words to which we can relate and understand, but even that doesn't reach the depth of it and we will probably never know, until we see Him face to face.

Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.
