Jesus' Promise to You

Bible in one year:
2 Samuel 9–

Luke :–32
He'll give you another defender to help you and be with you forever.

John :

Today's Scriptures & Insight:

John :–21, 25–27
Jason lamented when his parents gave it to Amy. It was the first time the two-year-old had been in day care while Mom and Dad were in the service, and he wasn't happy. Amy assured them she'd be fine. She tried to calm him down with toys and books, winching into a chair, walking, standing and talking about how much fun he could have. But everything was greeted with bigger tears and louder screams. Then he whispered five simple words in his ear: "I'll stay with you." Peace and comfort came quickly.

Jesus offered His friends similar words of comfort during the week of His crucifixion: "The Father... He will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever—the Spirit of truth" (John :–). After His Resurrection He gave them this promise: "I am certainly with you always, until the end of the age" (Matthew 28:20). Jesus would soon ascend to heaven, but He would send the Spirit to "stay" and live within His people.

We experience the comfort and peace of the Spirit as our tears flow. We receive His guidance when we wonder what to do (John :26). He opens his eyes to understand God more (Ephesians 1:–20), and He helps us in our weakness and prays for us (Romans 8:26–27).

Reflect & Pray
What do you need from the Holy Ghost today? How can knowing it's always close to helping you?

How grateful I am that you will always remain by my side, Jesus! I need you.

Amen, just amen.
Hope you have a blessed week, Marbella.
