!2 Step Celebrations and the Cake I made

The last Sunday of the Month - our group has a Pot Luck and Celebrates the Sobriety Anniversaries for that month. My 29th Anniversary was actually in November but I didn't celebrate it so a few in the group suggested that I take the chip this month. Since I am now in the cake business. I decorated the cake. I told my boss not to worry - my handwriting on the cake matches my handwriting on the cake but the customer won't complain. Namaste!!!!

My Message at the Meeting - I am now working on 30 years of sobriety. It's a lot easier to get 30 years than 30 days but one day at a time.......

GOD GRANT ME THE SERENITY TO ACCEPT THE THINGS I CANNOT CHANGE COURAGE TO CHANGE THE THINGS I CAN AND THE WISDOM TO KNOW THE DIFFERENCE!!!!

Congratulations.I agree that its easier to get 30 years,than that first 30 days. I never looked at it like that,but I can remember that first horrible 30 days all too well.Unfortunately I had several first 30 days before I was able to see what they were saying.I too came to know Dr. Bob and Bill in 1976,and it changed my life for the better.It wasn't easy,but nothing worth while ever is.

My hats off to you my friend,and may you celebrate at least 30 more.

I have always admire those who had the courage to come back to sobriety.

Has anyone else seen "The Days of Wine and Roses" starring Jack Lemmon and Lee Remick? It is one of the most powerful films about alcoholism and AA ever made. It's an oldie, but worth tracking down.
