The Different Branches of Astrology There are many different branches as Astrology. Natal Charts determine planetary energies at birth. A Solar Return is the Birthday chart which gives an indication of happenings for a year. Planetary Returns indicate the influence and timing of planetary energies. A Venus Return will tell of aspects of love while a Mars Return will give insight about work. One of my favorite branches of Astrology is Horary Astrology. This highly specialized astrological application is very ancient. It deals with specific questions and replies with specific answers. The horary chart is cast at the time the question is put to the astrologer. Date, place and time of birth to cast a horary chart. provides a method of dealing with problems with difficult situations. Horary Astrology can be used to find lost objects or gain insight about relationships, business, jobs, court cases, ad infinitum..... William Lilly is considered the Father of Horary Astrology. William Lilly was the foremost English astrologer of the 17th century. he began studying astrology in 1632. Lilly published many astrological almanacs and in 1647 wrote Christian Astrology, the most definitive work on horary astrology ever written in English. He is perhaps most famous for predicting the Great Fire of London in 1666. After the Restoration, Lilly was repeatedly investigated as a Parliamentary supporter, but managed to escape any serious consequences. He continued his thriving astrological practice and died on June 9, 1681. Astrology is not set in stone, there is always free will and choice when consulting Astrology. If the chart shows that things are going to turn out well then we leave things well enough alone and relax. But if the chart shows potential problems we can choose not to continue or choose to do something in a different way which can give us a different outcome. The idea is that forewarned is forearmed and with the information the horary chart can provide insight on how to make the best out of any circumstances.  Abracadabra  |
