Welcome to the Supreme Court - Ketanji Brown Jackson Ketanji Brown Jackson confirmed by Senate as first Black woman on U.S. Supreme Court. 57 to 43 with the help of 3 Republicans. Why is it that whenever a President appoints a Supreme Court Justice, the legislators from the opposite party have to degrade, belittle, and rake the potential nominee over the coals. Some of what I observed from the confirmation hearings was beyond ridiculous. There was much ado about the fact that Ms. Jackson defended detainees from Guantanamo Bay. Many of these detainees were held for years without any kind of court hearing or trail. The Bill of Rights assures that the accused has enjoy the right of a public and speedy trail. The Sixth Amendment guarantees the right of criminal defendants including the right to a public trail without unnecessary delay, the right to a lawyer, the right to an impartial jury, the right to know who the accusers are, the nature of the charges, and the evidence against them. Ms. Jackson was a public defender enforcing the Sixth Amendment rights of the Guantanamo detainees regardless of the opinion of others who don't think that detainees deserve those constitutional rights. The worse of the worse have a constitutional guarantee of a lawyer and fair trail. Ms. Jackson was doing her job as a Defense Lawyer. Dah! I am not sure what kind of gibberish Texas Senator Ted Cruz was babbling about. Is he a Latino even if he says that he's Asian Are babies racist? The Critical Race Theory and debate is an issue among the various local school in the educational community. Has that monkey even been sent to the Supreme Court? I am sure the "Don't Say Gay," circus is on the way to the Supreme Court? Next there was accusations that Ms. Jackson supports pedophilia?! Say what? I looked up the court case. It appears that a Nlneteen year old man was exchanging photos and texts with teenage girls. He was dabbling with jail bait and got caught but it's not pedophilia. He was sentenced to Elghteen months. Judges have perimeters that they have to work within. While it is true that someone who views and shares porn is enabling the crime, the guidelines indicate a flve year sentence. Someone who is actively engaging in the crime can be put away for 30 plus years. There was a letter from West Virginia Senator Capito. She declined to vote for Jackson's confirmation because she would not discuss politics. Every federal judge is appointed by a president who is affiliated with a major political party, and, therefore, every federal judge could theoretically be viewed as beholden, to some extent or another, Judges must all transcend politics. YOU SHOULD DIG DEEPER INTO JACKSON S COURT RULINGS. MOS T OF HER CASES WAS OVERTURNED BY HIGHER COURTS. THERE IS NO GREY AREA FOR ANYONE, ANYONE REGARDING CONTACTING WITH UNDER-AGE KIDS FOR S*XUAL TOPIC NONE!!!!! SHE SENTENCED ALL THAT SHE FACES TO LESS THAN MINIMUM TIME MANDATED BY THE LAW, AS WELL, AND IN NO CASE DID SHE FOLLOW REQUESTS FROM PROSECUTOR S TO SENTENCE SONE VERY SICK PEDOS TO EVEN MANDATOR TIME AN IN CASES THAT WERE DEEMED HEINOUS IN NATURE DUE TO AGE OF THE VICTIM TO THE MAXIMUM OR THE SENTENCE SUGGEST BY PROSECUTORS TO LONGER TIME. Starwomyn, I couldn't agree more ... The Republican Senators intent on degrading and belittling Ketanji Brown Jackson were really only interested in one thing ... the creation of carefully prepared sound bites that would be used by Fox news and Am Radio to promote themselves and their allegiance to the Republican culture war. And ...... as the Senator from Hawaii pointed out during the hearings ... REPUBLICAN SENATORS APPROVED EVERY ONE OF THE TRUMP APPOINTED JUDGES THAT ALSO "gave a light sentence to a child p*rn offender".

Hello Starwomyn..........Thanks for this blog about Judge Jackson. She is well qualified for the position on the Supreme Court. Dusty said everything that I thought but was not able to put it in writing. I think the USA is going to be a better place for all of its citrizens in the future. Creative Ideas.
