Photo Friday - V for Voting

Yesterday, I attended a Poll Worker class since I will be working as a Poll Worker in May for the Primary Election. The voting precincts each require a mix of Democrats and Republicans along with the occasional Independent as poll workers at each voting place.

If a voter needs assistant - poll workers from opposite parties are required to work together to help the voter. Many of the tasks are required be done by workers from opposite parties. This assures that the election is ran fairly. I am always amazed at how well we work together. We don't discuss politics. It's a "no no," There is respect and not the belittlement that I see in the media or blogs.

I decided to run for City Council in 20. I was dealing with hospice and my husband's health issues in April and May. After he died, there were so many issues to take care of that I forgot that there was an election in June. A barrister friend advised me to "Campaign, just a bit. You might be surprised."

A trip to the local Moose Lodge for a Ramp festival and just talking to folks down town when I was running. I didn't win but I did get 70 votes.

Good People of l Ronceverte Wv. I Chickens within the City Limits. Contrary to what local folks believe. Not all Californians are a bunch of citified yuppies. I grew up in Canyon Country, California. My Paternal Grandparents raised Chickens. I LOVE those Early Morning - COCK-A-DOODLE-DO's

I was registered as a Libertarian at the time and they didn't have me listed in the poll book so I had to vote a provisional ballot for myself. They had to research after the ballots were counted and added it to the collection.

I think the 'chickens' above would rather quacketty-quack-quack than cock-a-doodle-do

I love the shot of the ducklings. I used to have a pet duck called Donald many, many years ago when I was younger.

It only takes a drop of ink to make a million people think. There are many stories.
