Firetruck and those obnoxious health challenges***

I suppose it's better to be a 'has been' than a 'never was.' Most of my life, I have prided myself with being in reasonable good shape despite a few politically incorrect curves. I have never been a fashionable twig btch and that might have been a good thing.

However since I entered my sixth decade, things have changed. My mind wants to do all those exciting adventures like bungie jumping but my body says "You got to be kidding.

Yesterday morning I had to go to Outpatient for a hip injection. The doctor and I were talking about skydiving. Her wants to skydive. The doctor is concerned. I pointed out that beginning skydivers start with an experienced tandem skydiver which is much safer than when I was doing it.

She responded with, "Yeah but you can still break a shinbone or knee from landing." I told her that you have to know how to fall. I learned how to fall in dance class in high school. "Dang! I wish I could fall like that now. If I tried it now, I would break every bone in my leg along with my hip. Life on life's terms.

As the doctor was injecting the chemicals into the hip, it started to smart and burn. My LaMaze training came into mode. She asked me if I was okay. "I am trying not to say Firetruck" I responded. It could be much worse. It could have been one of those horrible NG Tubes. I had one of those a few months ago. Now, Big Macs are no longer on the menu but that doesn't break my heart. There are so many going through much worse than I am.

My brother in law, who is about your age, just had a hip replacement and is doing well. I keep battling against getting my knees done.
But it seems no matter how bad things get, I can always see someone who is in far worse circumstances.
You will do fine and bounce right back, because that's the kind of gal you are!

JUST WAIT UNTIL YOU HIT 80! YOU GET STIFFER, YOU HAVE TO CUT THE EXERCISE ROUTINE IN HALF BUT THANK THE LORD YOU CAN STILL DO IT.
SPEAKING OF SKY DIVING, A LADY FROM ANTIBES DID IT FOR HER 93rd BIRHDAY IN TANDEM, OF COURSE. AS SHE SAID TO ME, IT WAS ON HER BUCKET LIST AND THAT WAS THAT. SHE IS NOW SOMETHING LIKE 102.

I know several people that have had hip and knee replacement surgery, thankfully all delighted with the results.

Yes, good results IF you follow instructions for after-care. I know a couple of construction workers who had double knee replacements who are generally cocky know-it-alls and didn't do the exercises....I couldn't believe it, they thought they were the exception.....

Please go to a Sports Medicine doc that may be able to put you through intense physical therapy without surgery, I fell and tore three of the four ligaments around the rotator cuff and I went to physical therapy 3 times a week for 12 weeks and now have 90% of range of motion back. I was referred to the doc that rehabs all the injuries of professional athletes on the Arizonia teams,
